Earlier this week, I had the incredible privilege of judging the Computer Science category at the 46th Eskom Expo for Young Scientists alongside some truly amazing professionals. You’d think AI would weaken the quality of innovation, but I was wrong. It’s made these learners even stronger and more ambitious about the problems they tackle. I couldn’t be more amazed, and I’m so excited about the future. The competition gets tougher every year, and don’t be fooled, these learners really push the boundaries. I got to assess projects like using tech to improve Maths and Science for Grade 8 & 9 learners, a fresh approach to cybersecurity, and agritech, among others. 🌍 L’Afrique ne manque pas de ressources. Elle doit mieux transformer sa valeur. Pendant trop longtemps, une grande partie du potentiel économique africain a été pensée autour d’une logique simple : produire → exporter → importer des produits transformés. PANO veut contribuer à changer cette logique. Prenons un produit agricole. Producteur → collecte → stockage → transformation → emballage → marque → distribution → exportation. À chaque étape peuvent apparaître : des entreprises ; des emplois ; des compétences ; des technologies ; des infrastructures ; des opportunités d’investissement ; de nouveaux marchés. Des expériences récentes montrent déjà le potentiel de cette approche.
