Bianame SA, an organic greenhouse network of more than 220 growers in Tympaki, Crete, and up2metric, an innovation studio in Athens, are building a shared operations layer for greenhouse production: tasks that reach the right grower, augmented reality guidance for pest scouting, and certification evidence that comes out of the daily work instead of being compiled before an audit. We are one of 40 projects in GATE5.0 - Green and Digital Transitions for a Sustainable European Agrifood Ecosystem, the EU programme that funds an agrifood SME and a technology SME to build something together, coordinated by Cluster Digital de Catalunya with AgriFood Capital among the partners. Three dates run the EU AI Act, and the compliance epic just got pushed into next year against the wrong one. 👉🏻 2 August 2026 has passed. It carries the transparency duties: telling people they are dealing with an AI system, and marking AI-generated content. And the classification work: deciding which tier each feature falls in. Every provider owes both now. 👉🏻 2 December 2027. Is for standalone high-risk systems, high-risk because of what they are used for: worker management, eligibility scoring. 👉🏻 2 August 2028. Is for AI acting as a safety component inside a product that EU safety law already covers, the machinery case. That's your runway. It's not an exemption.
