AI is changing how production lines count and track products in real time. I’ve been working on an AI-powered Melon Detection & Counting System using computer vision. Instead of manually counting fruit, the system analyzes a live camera or video feed and automatically detects, tracks, and counts each melon moving through the production line. Pipeline: Camera Feed → Object Detection → Tracking → Counting → Real-Time Analytics The system can help with: → Automatic fruit detection → Real-time counting → Tracking objects across frames → Reducing duplicate counts → Production monitoring → Inventory and throughput analytics → Farm, warehouse, and packaging automation The main challenge is not only detecting the fruit. It is making sure the same object is not counted multiple times while it moves through the frame. That is where object tracking + computer vision become important. This type of solution can be adapted for many industries, including agriculture, food processing, manufacturing, logistics, and warehouse automation. Our business venture was “KrishiMitra AI” — an AI-powered app focused on making farming simpler, more convenient and accessible for farmers. 🌱📱 KrishiMitra AI includes features such as crop disease identification, weather updates, AI-based farming assistance, market price information and personalised farming recommendations, all aimed at helping farmers with their day-to-day agricultural needs. The experience allowed us to look at a real-world sector like agriculture from a business and innovation perspective, while working together to develop and present our idea. Le 27 septembre, j'ai participé à la première édition de « Come Build with AI », le hackathon organisé par GOMYCODE x NVIDIA au Sénégal, avec mon équipe Sunuagri AI. 🇸🇳 Notre défi : mettre l'IA au service de l'agriculture. En quelques heures, nous avons imaginé et construit un prototype avec de la prédiction, un conseiller intelligent et un accès aux marchés pour les agriculteurs. Reliance Industries to Invest ₹1 Lakh Crore in Andhra Pradesh for CBG Plants Reliance Industries Limited plans to invest ₹1 lakh crore in Andhra Pradesh to establish compressed biogas (CBG) plants, according to Executive Director Anant Ambani. The projects are expected to create more than 3 lakh jobs and generate significant long-term economic activity in the state. The investment will support Reliance’s renewable-energy strategy while connecting clean-energy production with Andhra Pradesh’s agricultural economy. CBG can be produced from agricultural residue, cattle dung, and other organic waste. Earlier this week, I had the incredible privilege of judging the Computer Science category at the 46th Eskom Expo for Young Scientists alongside some truly amazing professionals. You’d think AI would weaken the quality of innovation, but I was wrong. It’s made these learners even stronger and more ambitious about the problems they tackle. I couldn’t be more amazed, and I’m so excited about the future. The competition gets tougher every year, and don’t be fooled, these learners really push the boundaries. I got to assess projects like using tech to improve Maths and Science for Grade 8 & 9 learners, a fresh approach to cybersecurity, and agritech, among others.
