🏆 HACK STEMAIDE — Ghana Digital Innovation Week 2025 My Experience as a STEM Coach & Innovation Mentor During the HACK STEMAIDE Challenge at Ghana Digital Innovation Week 2025, I had the privilege of serving as an Instructor and Innovation Coach, guiding a diverse team of ten participants from different schools, backgrounds, and age groups. Most of them had never built a STEM project before—and we had just one hour to identify a problem, design a solution, prototype it, and pitch it. Using the STEMAIDE Coder Kit—a compact toolkit containing essential electronic and robotic components—I led the team through rapid ideation, systems thinking, and hands-on prototyping. Drawing on my years of experience in STEM education, robotics training, and supervising final-year and research projects, I broke down the challenge into simple, practical steps that everyone could understand. Together, we developed STEMAIDE AHWƐFOƆ—a smart intrusion-alert system designed to help farmers detect unauthorized persons entering their farmland. The solution uses basic sensors, alarms, and simple automation logic, demonstrating how technology can solve real agricultural problems even under tight time constraints. What made this moment powerful wasn’t just the prototype—it was seeing young people, who initially had no idea where to start, gain confidence, understand electronics, collaborate effectively, and bring an idea to life. At the end of the challenge, our team emerged as the WINNER out of 8 competing groups. This experience reaffirmed my passion for teaching, mentoring, and transforming complex STEM concepts into practical, real-life solutions. It reminded me of the importance of empowering the next generation with hands-on skills and creative problem-solving abilities. I am proud of my team and grateful for the opportunity to contribute to Ghana’s growing innovation ecosystem. #STEM #STEMEducation #GhanaDigitalInnovationWeek #GDIW2025 #STEMAIDE #HackSTEMAIDE #Mentorship #Leadership #Innovation #Robotics #Prototyping #ProblemSolving #AgriTech #Ghana #Inspiration #NextGeneration

I have not been posting much on Linkedin, but this is important & special. Indonesia is, at its core, an agricultural nation. Nearly 30% of our people work in agriculture, making it a vital engine of our economy and a lifeline for millions. We sit on some of the most fertile land in the world, supported by a land bank many countries can only dream of. With food security placed as a national priority, Indonesia has all the ingredients to lead. But the reality remains tough. Farmer incomes are low, yields lag global benchmarks, and the system is fragmented. Recent negative press around agritech governance has also slowed investor and founder interest. Yet beneath these challenges lies enormous untapped potential — and the innovation ecosystem must continue to push forward. Over the past months, I’ve been working with Rama Mamuaya and the Daily Social team to understand the real landscape of Indonesia’s agriculture sector. We spoke with leaders who have already proven what’s possible: Tommy Wattimena shared that Great Giant Foods, is indeed the world’s largest pineapple producer. We also home for largest & the most integrated coconut operations globally, some of the world’s best cacao and coffee origins, and the longest coastline on earth — giving us unmatched potential in fish and seaweed. We also connected with a new wave of founders - Eratani, Kreasi Pangan, Agrari, Chickin Indonesia, and more - who are reshaping how Indonesia grows, manages, and distributes food. Other countries have shown what’s possible. Brazil transformed itself within a single generation into a global food powerhouse. Indonesia can do the same — with alignment, collaboration, and a shared vision. To support this movement, together we are preparing a comprehensive industry white paper and hosting the Indonesia Food Resilience Forum 2025 this December, bringing together leaders, innovators, policymakers, and founders to discuss the path forward. If you’re in agriculture — or simply care about Indonesia’s food future — pls join our conversation. The forum will be limited to 200 pax, for decision makers, leaders, investors and policymakers in the agri industry. Register your interest to attend with info below. Indonesia Food Resilience Forum 2025 📅 Wednesday, 3 December 2025 | 1:00 – 5:30 PM 📍 Soehana Hall, The Energy Building, SCBD – Jakarta 🔗 Register here: https://luma.com/75o04yki 🔑 Code: AZLINKEDIN See attached document for rundown & speakers detail. We have limited space, but will try to accommodate as much as possible from my network. Ping me on my email, so I can prioritize your slot. I’ll share more along this theme in the coming weeks.

Field Visit To CPCT IARI I recently had the opportunity to explore the Hydroponics system, and it turned out to be one of the most insightful learning experiences in the field of sustainable agriculture and emerging agri-tech. Hydroponics is a soil-less cultivation method where plants grow using nutrient-enriched water solutions. What truly fascinated me is how this technique is redefining modern farming: 🔹 Efficient Resource Use: Hydroponics uses nearly 90% less water compared to traditional farming. 🔹 Space Optimization:Vertical structures and compact systems make it ideal for urban environments where land is limited. 🔹 Faster Growth: With controlled nutrients, lighting, and pH levels, plants mature much quicker. 🔹 Cleaner & Safer: No soil means no pests, weeds, or harmful chemicals. 🔹 Year-Round Cultivation:Controlled environments allow continuous production, regardless of season. This experience helped me understand the crucial role of innovation, sustainability, and precision technology in shaping the future of agriculture. With climate change, soil degradation, and population growth increasing global pressure on food systems, solutions like hydroponics are more relevant than ever. 💡 What I Learned During my visit, I learned many interesting things: Plants grow faster because they receive nutrients directly. No soil means no weeds, pests, or messy maintenance. It uses 80–90% less water than traditional farming. Hydroponics can be done even in small rooms or rooftops. LED lights provide artificial sunlight, helping plants grow anytime. It made me realize how technology is changing agriculture and making farming possible even in cities. Learning about the setup, nutrient flow methods, LED lighting technology, and root monitoring tools showed me how deeply science and technology can integrate with everyday food production. I’m inspired by how hydroponics bridges the gap between agriculture and advanced technology, opening new opportunities in: 🌿 Urban Farming 🌿 Smart Agriculture 🌿 Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA) 🌿 Agri-entrepreneurship 🌿 Sustainable food systems This experience has strengthened my interest in exploring more agri-tech innovations and the potential career pathways within this rapidly growing sector. Sustainability isn’t just a choice anymore—it’s the future. And hydroponics is a powerful step in the right direction. #Hydroponics #AgriTech #SustainableFarming #UrbanAgriculture #Innovation #FutureOfFood #CleanFarming #LearningExperience

Agritechnica was a humbling experience — seeing the scale, maturity, and reliability of established agricultural technology up close. Interestingly, even with all the innovation on display, autonomous robotics and electrified machinery were still only a small part of the show, and mostly designed for wide and open fields. It made me reflect on our own work in Malaysia, where plantation environments need very different robotic capabilities. We’ve already begun collaborating with an international partner, and that has been a meaningful step. But more than that, I hope to see many more players in Malaysia exploring this space — bringing different expertise, perspectives, and momentum into agricultural robotics. There is still a lot to learn from the global industry — from the engineering discipline behind proven machines and from how others approach automation. The gap in solutions for plantation conditions is clear, but that also means there is room to grow, innovate, and build together. Not a conclusion — just a realization. And a quiet motivation to keep contributing to this journey. A long road ahead, but a hopeful one. #Agritechnica #Agritech #FieldRobotics #PlantationAutomation #FutureOfFarming
