Every agritech team that read "EU AI Act" started pricing a high-risk compliance programme. ⚠️ Most of them do not owe one. High-risk is the EU AI regulation's heavy regime. Logging, human oversight, technical documentation, and conformity work, the assessment the system has to pass. A system gets there two ways. As a safety component inside a product already covered by EU product-safety law, or as one of the uses named in Annex III, the Act's list of high-risk use cases. 👉🏻 The food sector is not on that list. Scoring a field, recommending a spray rate, flagging disease pressure: none of that puts you there on its own. A yield-recommendation model in an EU pilot is normally neither route. 💡 However... 🚀 What happens when you give an idea 12 hours? You brainstorm. You question everything. You build. Something breaks. You fix it. You rethink it. And somehow, by the end of the day, you have something you can actually show. 😄 That was my experience at the GDG Indore – Build with AI: Code for Communities 2.0 – Mini Hackathon on 6th September 2026. Our team stepped into the hackathon with an idea around Agricultural Intelligence. By the end of the day, that idea had taken the shape of KrishiMitra — an AI-powered solution exploring how technology can make agricultural information more useful and accessible. What made the experience special wasn't just the final product. It was everything that happened in between. The quick discussions about what to build and what not to build. The decisions we had to make when time was running out. The debugging when things didn't work as expected. The constant exchange of ideas. And those little moments when a feature finally worked after multiple attempts. 😄 👨‍💻 A lot of that journey wouldn't have been possible without the team. Thank you, Abhishek Pandagre and Aayush Digarse, for being part of this journey — for the brainstorming, collaboration, problem-solving, and for staying involved till the very end. 🤝 Another thing I didn't expect to value so much was the community. Meeting other participants, developers, mentors, and people from different backgrounds gave me the opportunity to see how differently people approach the same problem. Some conversations were about AI and technology, some about projects, and some simply about everyone's journey in tech. I came to the event to build something. I left with new ideas, new connections, new lessons, and a lot more confidence in building under pressure.
