On enchaîne.

🇪🇹☕ Ethiopia Launches New Coffee Quality Certification Program The Ethiopian Coffee and Tea Authority has announced a groundbreaking coffee quality certification and traceability program, integrating blockchain technology to enhance transparency and trust across the supply chain. This new system will provide end-to-end traceability for Ethiopian coffee — certifying beans from major producing regions like Yirgacheffe, Sidamo, and Harrar. Each certified lot will include a digital certificate containing details on origin, processing methods, cupping scores, and sustainability practices. Experts believe this innovation will help Ethiopian specialty coffee secure premium prices globally while protecting the authenticity of its regional designations. The program is expected to be fully operational by mid-2026 and marks a major step in modernizing Africa’s coffee trade infrastructure. 📖 Reference: Ethiopian Coffee and Tea Authority Press Release, November 2025 #EthiopianCoffee #SpecialtyCoffee #BlockchainTraceability #CoffeeInnovation #CoffeeTrade #CoffeeExporters #CoffeeQuality #CoffeeIndustry #CoffeeCocoa #Sustainability #GlobalTrade #B2BMarketplace #Traceability #AgriTech

Proven returns, poor adoption — the paradox of smallholder technologies I have been thinking about this a lot lately, if a technology delivers ROI, why does it still struggle to reach small and marginal farmers? Three factors I keep coming.. 1. The cost of customer acquisition is unusually high. Even with proven ROI, farmers tend to “wait and watch” — hoping something or the other will bring support. That means longer sales cycles, more follow-ups, and higher logistics costs. In many cases, customer acquisition alone eats up more than 30% of the product cost — something most early-stage startups can’t sustain. 2. Climate risk keeps ROI uncertain. Even if a product pays back in three to four crop cycles on paper, one bad season can break the chain. Climate variability can ruin yields, affect repayments, and lower credit scores, even when a credit layer is introduced to increase adoption, which makes the situation even more complex. Unless we build in some support system, the true risk-adjusted ROI will not look viable for smallholders. 3. Distorted markets need Distorted Pricing Subsidies have shaped how farmers make decisions. When you enter such a market, normal pricing logic doesn’t work. You almost need to enter with a distorted pricing strategy for a distorted market — one that acknowledges how subsidy expectations drive adoption behavior. A strategy that recognises subsidy-shaped expectations is not distortion. It is realism. When we factor in climate risk, ROI stretches out. To keep it attractive, we need some shared cushion — so that the  break even looks convincing, even under uncertainty. Because in markets shaped by subsidies and shocks, pure market play often isn’t enough. Sometimes, in a market, you really do need a distorted strategy — at least until the system stabilizes. Happy to learn & Sharing this video to offer a quick glimpse of the field. O futuro do agronegócio é verde! É rentabilidade e responsabilidade lado a lado. 🤝 👉 Clique no link e leia o artigo completo nossa jamais: https://lnkd.in/db-FVWs

From Fields Aflame to Fields of the Future — Rethinking Stubble, Air, and Agriculture Every winter, North India becomes a giant smoke cauldron. The air turns dense. Masks reappear. Children gasp. Cities choke. And at the center of it all is a fire that begins quietly — in the fields. Stubble burning isn’t a farmer’s crime. It’s a system’s failure. A symptom of time, cost, and policy gaps — set alight. 20 million tons of rice straw. 140,000 tons of PM2.5. Surface soil baked at 400°C. 66,000 premature deaths in 2019. Every spark is a cry for alternatives. Every plume a reminder: this problem is solvable. And guess what? We already have the solutions to turn crop waste into crop wealth: PUSA Decomposer: ₹400/ha, microbes that compost stubble in 21 days Happy Seeder: Mulch-and-sow in one pass, +₹8,000/ha farmer profit Bioenergy Plants: 1 ton of straw → 300 kWh power, 200 m³ biogas Agro-fiber industries: Paper, board, packaging, fashion-fiber NTPC Co-firing: 20% stubble = 30 Mt CO₂ saved Models with proof — from Punjab to Sweden Yet, the fire keeps rising. Why? Because sustainable solutions need systems, scale, and stakeholders aligned. Farmers need affordable equipment. Policies need to incentivize mulching over burning. Startups & corporates need to turn straw into markets. And citizens? We need to care beyond the smog peaks. The question isn’t “Why do they burn?” It’s: “When will we choose to build alternatives that work — for farms, cities, and the planet?” Let’s turn fields of flame into fields of future. Because clean air is not a privilege — it’s a birthright.
