Now that we’ve unveiled our #AEOC2025 finalists, we’re turning the spotlight back to an innovator who’s walked this journey before — our 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰 𝟭𝘀𝘁 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝘇𝗲 𝗪𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿.
🌍 𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗔𝗿𝗲 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗡𝗼𝘄: AgriTech Analytics Limited
Their mission began with a simple but urgent truth: 33 million African smallholder farmers are fighting a daily battle against depleted soils, relentless pests, and an unpredictable climate.
Often, without the right data or tools to win.
AgriTech Analytics Limited set out to change that. By blending AI-IoT crop and soil sensors with #EarthObservation data, they give farmers something powerful: clarity. Real-time, hyper-local guidance that restores soils, protects crops, and strengthens livelihoods.
When they won AEOC in 2024, they faced a major sensor deficit. The $𝟱,𝟬𝟬𝟬 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 became a lifeline, funding 104 new sensors and enabling support for 416 farmers every month. And as they integrated real-time IoT sensor data with satellite imagery, the accuracy of their pest and disease predictions improved dramatically, transforming their solution from a simple monitoring tool into a 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲, 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻-𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 that truly empowers smallholder farmers.
And the impact?
In Mutomo Village (Kitui County), the @Zombe Women Farmers Group was facing recurring armyworm infestations that threatened their maize harvest. Using our AI-IoT sensors combined with satellite imagery, they detected early signs of the outbreak and guided farmers on timely, targeted interventions.
The result? Over 80% of their crops were saved, pesticide use dropped, and input costs fell.
For one farmer, Mary W., the impact was deeply personal. A single mother raising her grandson, Robert, who had dropped out of Grade 4 due to lack of school fees, Mary used the improved harvest to generate enough income to send Robert back to school — breaking a cycle that had already affected his mother before him.
Since AEOC, AgriTech Analytics has expanded to four counties, improved yields, lowered costs, and earned global recognition through the 2025 Waislitz Disruptor Award.
