Spending two days surrounded by young innovators working on real-world agricultural challenges was truly energizing.
I had the opportunity to attend and represent Research and Innovation Circle of Hyderabad at the National Agritech Hackathon organized by RVRJCC STP Foundation (RJE Nest) on December 22–23, held in celebration of National Kisan Diwas.
I was part of a panel discussion, alongside Sai Prakash Medi and Srikanth Reddy, and moderated by Ms. Krishnaveni Chenchu, Director, 247Digitize. During the discussion, I spoke about RICH’s role in supporting early-stage Agri-tech startups, the various avenues available for young innovators within the ecosystem, and how they can leverage expertise, mentorship, and partnerships to take their ideas forward.
I also had the privilege of serving as a jury member for the Agri-tech theme. The response was overwhelming, with 200+ applications received, 80 teams shortlisted, and 44 Agri-tech solutions presented. It was inspiring to see the diversity of ideas—from automation in sowing, harvesting (cotton, chilli, oil palm), data-driven predictive analytics, and irrigation management systems to circular economy solutions using Black Soldier Fly for waste management, and many more.
The event also enabled meaningful interactions with leaders and ecosystem partners including Sri Yalamanchili Sivaji Garu (Ex-MP, Rajya Sabha), Dr. N A Vijay, Additional CEO, a-IDEA, Sarath Babu, AGM, NABARD, Guntur and Shyam Sundar, Palle Srujana, etc.
A heartfelt thank you to Dr. R. Hafeez Basha Ph. D (Japan) for the opportunity and to the leadership and management team of RVR & JCC College for organizing such a meaningful initiative.
Thank you, Rashmi (Rohini) Pimpale Ma’am, and Ravikiran G Sir for the trust and opportunity.
