Nvidia just bought Hugging Face for $12.9 billion. Here's why smallholder farmers should care. The AI quietly transforming African agriculture, crop disease detection from a phone photo, yield prediction from satellite imagery, credit scoring for farmers with no bank statements, mostly runs on open-source models. Models a small team can download, fine-tune on local crops and local data, and deploy without a Silicon Valley budget. Hugging Face was the front door to all of that. Now the world's biggest chipmaker owns it. Maybe nothing changes. Nvidia profits when more people build. But agriculture in emerging markets has learned this lesson before with seeds and fertilizer: when the inputs get consolidated, the smallest players pay the price. For those of us building AI for smallholder finance, the takeaway is clear: Fine-tune and own your models. A crop-yield model trained on Ethiopian teff or Kenyan maize is an asset no acquisition can take from you. The real moat was never the base model, it's the local data and the trust of the farmers behind it. The next decade of agricultural AI in Africa shouldn't depend on decisions made in a boardroom in Santa Clara. #AgriTech #AI #FinancialInclusion #Smallholders #Africa #AgriFinance

Happy to share that Cornext had the privilege of speaking at the Post Budget Webinar 2026 organised by the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Government of India — on the ₹2,000 crore top-up to the Self-Reliant India (SRI) Fund. Cornext being a direct beneficiary of the SRI Fund, and since Omnivore — anchored by the SRI Fund — led our seed investment in 2024, when we spoke at the webinar, we did so not as advisors, but a beneficiary this fund was built to serve. Representing Cornext, Mr.Madhav (Founder & MD) made two specific recommendations to the panel: 1. Use existing SRI Fund portfolio companies as Ecosystem Builders to reach micro enterprises at scale: The SRI Fund has already funded 700+ enterprises, many of which — like Cornext — have built strong networks and ecosystems around them. Alongside new pipeline development, the Top-Up could leverage these existing networks of SRI portfolio companies to route small-ticket investments of ₹1 crore to ₹1.5 crore to micro-entrepreneurs within their ecosystems. These could include entrepreneurs developing novel technologies or those operating within value chains linked to the ecosystem provider’s core business. The pipeline already exists — it simply needs to be activated. 2. Replace 3-year CAGR with GST filing history as the primary eligibility signal: For businesses that scale in cycles, a CAGR calculated at the wrong point in that cycle looks weak even when the business is fundamentally strong. GST filing history captures the real story: consistent operations, genuine revenue, and a natural fraud filter built in. The government already holds this data, it simply needs to be used. Cornext's own journey from founding to first equity (8.5 years) — is the case for why both of these changes matter. The SRI Fund works. The question is how to make it reach further, faster, and find the enterprises it cannot yet see. We are grateful to the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Government of India for creating this platform, to Padmaja Ruparel ji for moderating with such precision, and to the fellow panellists whose perspectives enriched the discussion. #MSMEIndia #StartupIndia #PublicPolicy #StartupEcosystem #VentureCapital #ImpactInvesting #AgriTech #RuralEntrepreneurship #InclusiveGrowth #SRIFund

My MBA project crunched 5 years ratios : • Current ratio jumps 1.4 → 4.1 → 1.5—liquidity crisis waiting? (Ideal: 2:1)  • Debt/Equity spikes to 1.7x—overleveraged red flag • ROCE? Danger 1.3% vs. manufacturing 12-15% norm • Proprietary ratio 0.05: Owners fund just 5% of assets—insolvency risk Fills gap: Agriculture studies obsess productivity, ignore SME financial rot. Fixes? Debt slash, asset flip, liquidity lock. Raw report 👇 [PDF link]. Thoughts on these ratios? Weak spots I missed? #Finance #SMEGrowth #SMEFinance #AgriTech #RatioAnalysis

#immobilier #immobiliertertiaire #architecture #investissementimmobilier

It is often assumed that larger agricultural drones automatically deliver better performance. In reality, size alone does not determine effectiveness in the field. Larger platforms can be harder to deploy, slower to turn around between missions, and more demanding to operate. Agricultural performance depends on how well a drone is designed for its task, including autonomy, efficiency, ease of operation, and adaptability to real field conditions. Compact, purpose-built systems like Bumblebee focus on optimising spraying efficiency, reducing downtime, and maintaining consistent operations, rather than simply increasing scale. Drone Myths is a series by SUIND that separates fact from fiction in agricultural drone technology. #DroneMyths #SUIND #AgriTech #AgriculturalDrones #SmartFarming #PrecisionAgriculture #DroneTechnology #FarmEfficiency #FutureOfFarming
