#Hydroponics #CEA #AgricultureModerne #Agribusiness #FarmManagement #SmartAgriculture #Fertigation #AgriculturalConsulting #ControlledEnvironmentAgriculture #SmartFarming

We Asked Farmers. We Built. We Won. What if agricultural mechanisation didn’t have to start with a tractor? That question shaped our thinking at Roju Empire Technologies LTD as we developed Roju AutoSpray, a practical solution designed to take the repetitive manual pumping out of conventional knapsack spraying while retaining the familiar system farmers already know how to use. Today, I’m excited to share that Roju AutoSpray has emerged a winner of the TRACTRAC Young Innovators In Agricultural Mechanization competition, receiving a ₦1,000,000 prize! This means much more to us than winning a competition. Before developing the solution, we spoke with farmers, listened to their experiences and focused on a simple principle: don’t build technology because it is impressive; build what people actually need and are willing to use. Now comes the most important part, turning that validation into a product that performs reliably in the hands of farmers. The ₦1 million will help us move AutoSpray further from prototype toward field validation, product refinement and commercial readiness. Special appreciation to the distinguished judges, Olabode Ogunyemi, FMVA® , Saadah Muhammad Shakur and Jemimah Jennifer Justus PMDpro LMIH, for their time, insights, and thoughtful evaluation throughout the competition. To the TracTrac team, mentors, farmers who shared their experiences with us, and everyone supporting our journey at Roju Empire Technologies LTD, thank you. We’re building. We’re learning. And we’re only getting started. 🌱⚙️ Affordable mechanisation. Built around the farmer. Built for Africa. Building and Feeding Nigeria Through Technologies!!!!!!!. From an idea in a workshop to a machine built for the farm. 🚜🌱 Recently, I had the opportunity to visit KHETI-EV, a startup working at the intersection of agriculture, engineering and new technology. What caught my attention was not just the machine, but the mindset behind it — identifying a real challenge in farming and trying to build a practical solution around it. Agriculture needs more than better inputs. It needs innovation, automation, indigenous technology and entrepreneurs who understand the realities of farmers. For me, visits like these are a reminder that the future of agriculture will be shaped when farmers, agri-entrepreneurs, engineers, startups and technology come together. The journey from “Can we build it?” to “Can a farmer actually use it?” is where the real innovation begins. Looking forward to seeing how startups like a KHETI-EV continue to evolve and contribute to the next chapter of Indian agriculture. Agriculture × Technology × Entrepreneurship = New Possibilities for Indian Farming. 🇮🇳🌾 #Agriculture #AgriTech #Startup #Khetiev #Innovation #AgriculturalTechnology #Entrepreneurship #IndianAgriculture #FarmTechnology #AgriEntrepreneur #FutureOfFarming

Tomorrow, Vizag starts building for the farmer. 🌱 We are kicking off the first AgriPreneurs Buildathon, and this one belongs to the builders. The farmer grows the food we all eat, and keeps the least of it. Produce rots before it sells, the margin leaks to middlemen, good ideas never leave the field. Most farm tech never touches any of this, because it is built in a city for a farmer nobody asked. We are the other thing. This is a build cycle, not a talk. Coders, developers, designers, data and product people, and IoT builders come to real, farmer-validated problems, join an Innovation Tribe, and over the next three weeks ship one small thing a farmer actually uses. Not a slide. A working thing, tested in the field. And no one builds alone. We walk with you, from the problem to the build to real farmers to what comes next. It takes a village to start one. Proud to have our ecosystem building this together: Ratan Tata Innovation Hub (RTIH) AP, RTIH Visakhapatnam ,DST GITAM Technology Enabling Centre (G-TEC) , AI for Vizag, AI Karyashala, Quantumizers Community, and GDG Vizag. 📅 Sunday, 4 October, 9:30 AM to 1:00 PM 📍 5th Floor, RTIH, VMRDA Deck, Siripuram, Visakhapatnam 🎟️ A few seats left. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗔𝗿𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗼𝗻 𝗟𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗘𝗿𝗿𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗕𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀? Plant breeding depends on accurate observation and reliable comparison. But when lighting conditions are inconsistent, it can become difficult to determine whether differences between plants are caused by 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀 𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁. Some common lighting errors include: 💡 𝗨𝗻𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗟𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗯𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 Hotspots and dark zones can cause plants within the same experiment to receive different light levels. ☀️ 𝗜𝗴𝗻𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗣𝗙𝗗 & 𝗗𝗟𝗜 Using fixture wattage as the primary metric doesn't tell breeders how much usable light plants are actually receiving. 🌈 𝗨𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗺 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 Different crops, cultivars, and growth stages may require different lighting strategies. ⏱️ 𝗜𝗻𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗣𝗵𝗼𝘁𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗱𝘀 Small variations in light duration can influence plant development, flowering, and reproductive responses. 📏 𝗜𝗻𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗙𝗶𝘅𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗛𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 Changing the distance between the fixture and canopy can significantly affect light intensity and uniformity. 🌡️ 𝗜𝗴𝗻𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗟𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 Poorly planned fixtures can influence the growing environment and create unwanted temperature variations. When these factors are overlooked, environmental variation can interfere with 𝗽𝗵𝗲𝗻𝗼𝘁𝘆𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗯𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀. That's why plant breeding facilities need lighting designed around 𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗿𝗼𝗽-𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰 𝗿𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀. At Nexsel, we develop precision plant lighting solutions for breeding programs, research institutions, and controlled environments helping create consistent conditions where plant genetics can be evaluated with greater confidence. Because in plant breeding, 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀𝗻'𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄 𝗶𝘁 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗼𝗳. #PlantBreeding #PlantLighting #CEA #Research #Agritech #GrowLights #LEDGrowLights #HorticultureLighting #PlantResearch #Nexsel
