    On enchaîne. Il est maintenant très probable que nous allons vivre l'El-Nino le plus intense depuis le début de son observation sur Terre (et surement depuis des siècles). Les premiers effets se font sentir avec un décrochage total des températures mondiales. Le mois d'août 2026 pourrait être le mois d'août le plus chaud sur Terre depuis le début des mesures. Nous ne sommes qu'à 0.11°C du record absolu mondial de température et 0.01°C du record absolu de la surface des océans. La méditerranée enchaîne les records absolus de température avec une canicule marine qui dure depuis des semaines avec jusqu'à +3 à +6°C d'anomalie. Les derniers relevés montrent qu'avec une moyenne de 28.5°C, la surface de la mer Méditerranée vient de battre son record absolu de température. En d'autres termes, la mer Méditerranée n'a jamais été aussi chaude tous mois confondus. Ce n'est que le début. Nous sommes partis pour 1 an d'incroyables records à l'échelle planétaire.

🚨 LANDMARK IP CASES IN INDIA | EPISODE 14 🇮🇳 Welcome back to Episode 14 of our series decoding the jurisprudence shaping India’s intellectual property landscape. If you are a Patent Analyst navigating the complex boundaries of subject-matter eligibility, or an aspirant gearing up for the Patent Agent Exam on Jan 10, 2027, mastering Section 3 of the Indian Patents Act—specifically what constitutes a non-patentable invention—is non-negotiable. In Episode 13, we tackled "Prior Publication." Today, let's dive into the absolute foundational case for Biotech, Agriculture, and Section 3(j): 🏛️ Monsanto Technology LLC v. Nuziveedu Seeds Ltd. (2019) - Supreme Court of India Let’s break down the "Subject-Matter Eligibility" battle: The plaintiff (Monsanto) held a patent for their Bt cotton technology—specifically a Nucleic Acid Sequence (NAS) containing the Cry2Ab gene that made seeds resistant to bollworms. When disputes arose over trait fees, they sued the defendant (Nuziveedu) for infringement. The defendant immediately counter-attacked, claiming the patent was invalid under Section 3(j) of the Patents Act, which states that "plants and animals... including seeds, varieties and species... are not inventions." They argued that once the genetic sequence is inserted into a plant, it becomes an inherent biological part of the seed and is therefore unpatentable. The core legal question: Does a patented, man-made DNA sequence lose its patent protection and fall under the exclusions of Section 3(j) the moment it is integrated into a plant? While a Division Bench of the Delhi High Court initially shocked the industry by revoking the patent summarily, the Supreme Court delivered a masterclass ruling: The Supreme Court set aside the revocation, holding that highly complex invalidity claims—like whether a DNA construct physically becomes a "plant part" under Section 3(j)—cannot be decided in a summary proceeding. It requires rigorous expert evidence and a full trial to understand the true scientific and technical scope of the claims. 💡 Pro Tip for Analysts & Aspirants: When drafting claims or mapping patents in the biotech space for India, the line between an "inventive isolated DNA sequence" (patentable) and a "plant variety" (non-patentable under Sec 3(j)) is razor-thin. Structuring the UI Architecture for Ubinex MHEWS CORE (Work in Progress) 🚀🌾 Designing for high-stakes, real-time data environments like a Multi-Hazard Early Warning System (MHEWS) requires a solid foundation—strict component architecture, visual contrast, and scalable layout systems. I'm currently in the middle of building out the complete Figma interface design for Ubinex, taking it step-by-step from core component sets to full screen layouts. ✨ Current progress in Figma: Component Libraries: Setting up modular design tokens and interactive state variants (Default, Hover, Active) across light and dark contexts. Telemetry & Risk Dashboards: Structuring live monitoring views for sensor connectivity, weather indicators, and hazard risk metrics. Geospatial & Sensor Management: Mapping out GIS tools to visualize early warning threats and manage live node telemetry. Farmer Roster & Alert Hub: Designing multi-channel broadcast tools (SMS, Voice, App Push) to translate complex data into localized farmer communication. Mobile Views: Adapting layouts for mobile and PWA responsiveness so critical alerts are readable anywhere.
