Trees have a daily rhythm, and it’s critical that we listen🌳 Every day, a tree undergoes a 24-hour shrink-and-swell cycle driven by transpiration. During the day, trees lose water through transpiration faster than their roots can absorb, causing their stems to shrink. At night, they rehydrate and expand. When irrigation isn't optimal, excessive shrinkage signals water stress before visible signs even appear. As a result, the trees shrink excessively, and yields suffer. Monitoring this 24-hour cycle allows growers to eliminate guesswork and irrigate with precision.
