Ideathon 2026 | Farmova 🚜🌱 Today, I had the opportunity to participate in Ideathon, organized in Sri Krishna College of Engineering and Technology by CSE department, and present our idea Farmova. 🌾 Farmova — From Idle Machines to Active Farms Farmers often face difficulties accessing agricultural machinery when they need it, while many machine owners have equipment sitting unused for long periods. Farmova aims to bridge this gap by creating a platform where: 🚜 Farmers can discover and rent agricultural machinery 📍 Find nearby available machines 📅 Book machines based on their requirements 💳 Make secure payments 📲 Receive booking notifications and updates ⭐ Build trust through ratings and reviews Our goal is simple: make agricultural machinery more accessible to farmers while helping machine owners make better use of their equipment. Participating in Ideathon with my teammates Shalini M and Muthumeena M gave me a great opportunity to step beyond just building an idea and actually present, explain, defend, and think about its real-world impact. From Prototype to Market Validation: A Step Closer to Reducing Post-Harvest Losses 🍅🌱 Yesterday marked another important milestone in our journey at Fresh Harvest Innovations – Team GreenCycle. We had the privilege of hosting the **Coalition for Positive Impact (CPI)** team, through the **Igniting Dreams Fellowship**, for an assessment of our work and the progress we have made in developing our innovative produce preservation boxes. Our solution is designed to help **tomato and vegetable sellers preserve their produce for longer periods, reduce post-harvest losses, and protect the livelihoods of farmers and traders.** What made the visit particularly exciting was the opportunity to demonstrate our solution in a real-world setting and receive valuable feedback from the CPI team. The assessment provided encouraging validation of our product's potential, particularly its relevance to the needs of market sellers. Even more exciting was the interest expressed in adopting and purchasing the boxes as we progress toward production and market entry. For our team, this is more than just a successful assessment. **It is a strong indication that we are solving a real problem with a solution that people are willing to pay for.** From identifying the problem, developing the concept, building the prototype, testing it, and now receiving market validation — every step has brought us closer to our vision. There is still much work ahead: improving the design, strengthening our production process, conducting further user testing, and ultimately making these preservation boxes accessible to the people who need them most. But yesterday gave us another reason to believe that **the future of Fresh Harvest Innovations is promising.** 🚀 A sincere thank you to the **Coalition for Positive Impact (CPI)** and the **Igniting Dreams Fellowship** for the assessment, constructive feedback, support, and belief in our vision. Today I spent a lot of time connecting some of the pieces we've been talking about. One of the biggest things was finally getting harvesting working. A crop can grow through its stages, reach harvest, and now the farmer can actually click Harvest Crop, enter the yield, and have that information saved as part of the crop's record. That might sound small, but it changes the way I think about the app. It's no longer just: "I planted maize." It's becoming: "I planted maize → I monitored it → I got advice → I harvested it → I recorded what I got." I also worked on the advisory system, separating general farming knowledge from recommendations that are actually specific to a farmer's crops, livestock, and weather. And I added a rotating Farm Knowledge section to the dashboard, so instead of throwing random "tips" at farmers, the app can gradually expose them to practical farming knowledge. I also spent quite a bit of time cleaning up the UI and making the pages behave properly on mobile. Not the most exciting part of development 😂, but definitely one of those things that makes the app feel much better. There's still a lot I want to improve, especially around what happens after harvest and eventually helping farmers keep track of the value they're getting from what they produce. But honestly, I'm happy with where this is going. I'm getting to the point where I don't just want to keep adding features because they sound cool. I want to start putting Farm Companion in front of actual farmers, hear what they think, find out what they'd actually use, and build from there. For Day 8 (Farm & Field Track), I built a real-time "Call Analytics & Performance Dashboard" for Kisan Vaani — connected directly to SQLite (kisan_memory.db) to track every voice call outcome, success rate, regional language, and duration. 🎙️ What I built on Day 8: • 🌾 Defined Success Criteria for Kisan Vaani: A call is marked SUCCESSFUL when requested mandi rates/weather information is delivered, saved SQLite memory is loaded, or an emergency KVK officer ticket is created. Marked FAILED if disconnected prematurely before query completion. • 🗄️ SQLite Session Logger (call_logs table): Automatically logs every call session upon disconnect with Call ID, Caller Name, District, Language, Outcome Summary, Duration (sec), and Status (SUCCESS / FAILED). • 🌐 Multilingual Regional Support: Added explicit language tracking (Hindi Devanagari, Kannada, Marathi, Punjabi, and Tamil) to monitor regional voice accessibility across Bharat! • 📊 Real-Time Web Analytics Dashboard UI: An interactive glassmorphism dashboard featuring 4 live metric cards: 📈 Total Calls ✅ Successful Calls ❌ Failed Calls 🎯 Success Rate % • 📜 Protected Call History Log Table: Renders recent calls with colour-coded status badges, regional language badges, time, district, and outcome summaries while protecting caller privacy. • 🔄 Live Increment Verification: Completing a successful call automatically increments Total Calls and Successful Calls live on the dashboard! Trees have a daily rhythm, and it’s critical that we listen🌳 Every day, a tree undergoes a 24-hour shrink-and-swell cycle driven by transpiration. During the day, trees lose water through transpiration faster than their roots can absorb, causing their stems to shrink. At night, they rehydrate and expand. When irrigation isn't optimal, excessive shrinkage signals water stress before visible signs even appear. As a result, the trees shrink excessively, and yields suffer. Monitoring this 24-hour cycle allows growers to eliminate guesswork and irrigate with precision.
