    [GRAPHIQUE 1] L’été 2026 est, de loin, le + chaud jamais observé en France, devançant 2003 de 0,8°C. Seulement 5 jours sous les normales, contre 86 au-dessus. Il laisse derrière lui une agriculture en lambeaux et des écosystèmes à l’agonie. Le froid durable sous les normes n'existe clairement plus depuis 5 ans en France. Avec +3.8°C en juin, +3.7°C en juillet et +3.3°C en août, jamais la France n'avait enchainé de telles anomalies. Et la chaleur fera son reto ur dès le début du mois de septembre, de façon durable, notamment dans le sud de la France… L’été météorologique s’achève, mais nous sommes loin d’être tirés d’affaire. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [GRAPHIQUE 2, CARTE 3 et CARTE 4] En termes d’intensité, la sécheresse de 2026 (courbe noir du graphique) est clairement la plus intense jamais observée en France à l’échelle nationale. À l’échelle régionale, le constat est tout aussi exceptionnel : du Poitou jusqu’à l’Alsace, une vaste partie du pays connaît la sécheresse la plus intense jamais enregistrée (rouge sur la carte). Le retour des pluies ces dix derniers jours a permis de limiter un peu la casse. Mais le répit pourrait être de courte durée : avec le retour de la chaleur début septembre, la sécheresse pourrait de nouveau atteindre des niveaux records pour cette période de l’année (sous 2022 et 1976). En terme de sévérité (intensité * durée), on ne peut pas encore se prononcer, la sécheresse 2026 étant encore loin d'être terminée.

    Je pense que l’on peut désormais affirmer que la France traverse la plus grandes catastrophe agricole nationale depuis 1945. Sans aide publique, 30 000 à 35 000 exploitations pourraient se retrouver en situation de faillite, soit près de 10 % des exploitations agricoles françaises. C’est monstrueux. Le constat devient donc difficile à éviter : notre modèle agricole n’est pas suffisamment préparé au changement climatique qui arrive. C’est aussi le résultat d’un échec politique collectif : les gouvernements successifs n’ont pas suffisamment pris la mesure de l’ampleur des bouleversements que le changement climatique impose déjà, et imposera demain, à notre agriculture. Voici 3 propositions nationales pour adapter notre agriculture au changement climatique.

    La fin de la sécheresse (météorologique) a été marquée par le début de la saison des orages méditerranéens offrant un spectacle grandiose durant l'intégralité de la nuit passée. Quelques centaines de photos entre l'Hortus (ici à droite) et le Pic Saint Loup (ici sortant du nuage à gauche), dont de nombreux coups de foudre ramifiés ! Il va me falloir des semaines pour tout traiter !

    On enchaîne. Il est maintenant très probable que nous allons vivre l'El-Nino le plus intense depuis le début de son observation sur Terre (et surement depuis des siècles). Les premiers effets se font sentir avec un décrochage total des températures mondiales. Le mois d'août 2026 pourrait être le mois d'août le plus chaud sur Terre depuis le début des mesures. Nous ne sommes qu'à 0.11°C du record absolu mondial de température et 0.01°C du record absolu de la surface des océans. La méditerranée enchaîne les records absolus de température avec une canicule marine qui dure depuis des semaines avec jusqu'à +3 à +6°C d'anomalie. Les derniers relevés montrent qu'avec une moyenne de 28.5°C, la surface de la mer Méditerranée vient de battre son record absolu de température. En d'autres termes, la mer Méditerranée n'a jamais été aussi chaude tous mois confondus. Ce n'est que le début. Nous sommes partis pour 1 an d'incroyables records à l'échelle planétaire.

Dear All, Let us explore the performance of major companies in Q1 of 2026-27 FY. India's agri-input sector delivered a mixed Q1 FY27 (April–June 2026) with agrochemical companies expected to post only ~3% revenue growth and a ~3% EBITDA decline on aggregate. Delayed and erratic monsoon patterns disrupted domestic demand, while exporters outperformed purely domestic-focused players. Fertilizer companies faced elevated raw material costs linked to the ongoing Middle East crisis, squeezing margins even as revenues grew. ## Q1 FY27 Results Summary: Please find the attached image #Key Dynamics & Themes #Monsoon Disruption Delayed and erratic monsoon patterns were the single biggest headwind for domestic-focused agri-input companies in Q1 FY27. #Exporters Outperform Companies with significant export exposure demonstrated clear outperformance. Sharda Cropchemgrew revenue 9% (though FX-driven, with volumes declining 1.6%) & expanded EBITDA margin by 220 bps to 16.6%. UPLmaintained guidance of 10–14% revenue and 14–18% EBITDA growth for FY27, citing stabilized demand in Latin America&North America. Margin Expansion Through Product Mix & Cost Discipline Several companies expanded margins despite flat or modest revenue growth: - *Best Agrolife* EBITDA margin jumped to 20% from 12%, driven by a 37% rise in patented product volumes & price increases - Sumitomo Chemical India* EBITDA margin reached 21.9% (+120 bps), the highest in seven quarters, on cost control & favorable mix - *Rallis India EBITDA grew 23% YoY, with B2C Crop Care surging 19% #Fertilizer Margin Pressure Coromandel International exemplified the fertilizer segment's challenges — standalone revenue grew 10% to ₹7,792 Cr, but PAT fell 26% due to elevated raw material costs triggered by the Middle East crisis. However, its Crop Protection business was a bright spot with revenue up 20%& EBITDA up 44%, while retail revenue surged 85% with 22 new stores added (1,200+ total). #Debt Reduction & Balance Sheet Strengthening UPLcompleted a ₹2,500 Cr rights issue in May 2026 to pare high-cost debt, reducing net debt-to-EBITDA from 4.6x to 1.6x, with a further ₹1.8K Cr debt reduction targeted for H1 FY27. #Strategic & Leadership Updates Sumitomo Chemical India announced a broad board reconstitution effective September 1,2026,with Dr. Suresh Ramachandran set to become MD - Dhanuka Agritech announced a ₹70 cr share buyback and a final dividend of ₹2 per share -Coromandel International reported subsidy outstanding of ₹3,254 Cr as of June 30, with an additional ₹568 Cr received in July # Outlook for FY27 The sector outlook remains cautiously optimistic. UPL has maintained double-digit revenue and EBITDA growth guidance, projecting 12% revenue growth for subsequent quarters with EBITDA margins expected to expand by 150 bps. Why detection is a decade behind Plantations have satellites, drones, and precision fertiliser — and still detect their most destructive disease by eye. Basal Stem Rot is the biggest biological threat to oil palm in Southeast Asia. Yet the standard way to find it is still a person walking the rows, looking for symptoms. The trouble is that by the time a palm *shows* symptoms, it's usually at a late stage — the tree is already dying, and its neighbours may already be infected. Detection at that point isn't detection. It's confirmation of loss. Two things have kept the industry stuck: — Symptoms are a lagging indicator. The disease works underground for months before the canopy tells the story. — It doesn't scale. Tens of thousands of hectares can't be meaningfully checked tree-by-tree on foot. So the real challenge was never "can we see a sick tree." It's "can we see a tree that is *going* to be sick — across an entire estate, repeatably." That's the gap I believe is finally closable.
