Europe cannot afford to fall further behind - especially when it comes to something as fundemental as food. A study commissioned by Bayer (links provided in the 1st comment) highlights a worrying gap: between 2011 and 2023 EU crop production gre by just 0.1% annually, compared with 2% globally. For me, this raises a fundamental question: Why is Europe struggling to translate its scientific excellence, technological capabilities and agricultural knowledge into greate impact? This is not only an agricultural issue. It is also a question of European competitiveness, food security and strategic autonomy. From my perspective, Europe should focus on five priorities: 1. Accelerate innovation and adoption: Create better conditions for agricultureal technologies to move from research into practical use on farms. 2. Simplify processes while preserving high standards: Reduce avoidable complexity that delays progress, without compromising safety or environmental protection. 3. Strengthen investment in agricultural R&D: Support long-term research and collaboration among science, industry, farmers and other partners across the value chain. 4. Enable farmers to put innovation into practice: Improve access to tools, training, advice and knowledge that support informed on-farm decisions. 5. Coordinate policy more effectively: Align agricultural, research, environmental and industrial policies so Europe can translate its strengths into tangible outcomes. Europe does not lack ideas, expertise or ambition. What we need are better conditions to turn these strengths into action - at the scale and speed the situation requires. -------------------------- This post reflects my personal views and does not represent the position of Bayer. #EuropeanAgriculture #FoodSecurity #Innovation

🚀 Day 2: Turning Vision into Action 🌾 Day 2 of my journey to build an AI chatbot for farmers, and today is all about laying the foundation — research, structure, and purpose. I spent time understanding: 🔍 The real challenges farmers face daily — from unpredictable weather to lack of timely information. 🧠 How AI can bridge that gap with simple, voice-based, local-language support. 💬 What it means to build trust with technology in rural communities. Every insight reaffirms one truth: technology becomes powerful only when it truly empowers people. My next step — designing the first version of the chatbot’s conversation flow and identifying core AI features that can make a farmer’s life easier. It’s just Day 2, but the mission feels even stronger: To bring the power of AI to the heart of every farm. 🌱 #Day2 #AI #AgriTech #Farmers #AIForGood #Innovation #StartupJourney #DigitalFarming #TechnologyForChange

💰🌱 “Why Agriculture, Bioenergy, and Carbon Credits Are the Next Multi-Billion-Dollar Business” The convergence of agriculture, renewable energy, and ESG isn’t just about sustainability—it’s rapidly becoming one of the largest untapped revenue streams for global businesses. Here’s how the business works: 1️⃣ Value Creation from Agriculture •Companies like RIL invest in mega food parks to process raw produce into packaged foods and bio-materials. •Revenue model: Processed goods sell at higher margins than raw produce. Export-ready products and value-added derivatives multiply earnings. 2️⃣ Waste-to-Energy as Revenue •Agricultural and food-processing waste can feed biogas or biomass plants. •Revenue model: Sell electricity or renewable fuels to grids and industrial consumers. •Example: Tata Power Renewable Energy converts crop residues into electricity, selling output to state grids while generating verified environmental benefits. 3️⃣ Carbon Credits •Every tonne of CO₂ emissions avoided or offset generates a tradeable carbon credit. •Revenue model: Sell credits to companies needing ESG compliance, often at a premium in voluntary or compliance markets. •Example: RIL’s biogas plants convert waste into energy and measurable emissions reductions, which are sold as carbon credits. Infosys offsets IT operations through renewable energy and carbon credit purchases, monetizing sustainability indirectly. 4️⃣ ESG Integration and Strategic Advantage •Revenue model: Strong ESG scores attract investors, reduce financing costs, and allow premium pricing for sustainable products. •Companies integrate ESG metrics into operational KPIs, tying impact to financial performance. How These Combine into Big Revenue: •Circular Ecosystem: Agriculture → Processed Products → Waste → Bioenergy → Carbon Credits → ESG → Revenue Business Models Used: 1.Asset Ownership: Companies own processing plants and biogas facilities, selling outputs (food, energy, credits) directly. 2.Partnerships with Farmers: Contract farming or aggregators supply feedstock reliably. 3.Revenue Sharing / ESG Monetization: Selling carbon credits or sustainability-linked energy, often combined with government incentives or voluntary carbon markets. The next trillion-dollar opportunity isn’t in tech — it’s in turning farms into carbon factories. Every ton of crop waste, every biogas plant, every verified carbon credit represents untapped revenue that traditional businesses are ignoring. Companies that act now won’t just profit from food and energy — they’ll own the carbon economy of tomorrow, setting the standard for sustainable business. The fusion of agriculture, bioenergy, and carbon credits is no longer just sustainability — it’s strategy. Companies that turn waste into energy and impact into revenue will lead the next wave of green profitability. The future isn’t just green — it’s profitable. #Sustainability #ESG #CarbonCredits #AgriTech #RenewableEnergy #BusinessStrategy #FutureRevenue

On Mapping and Learning from Field Data 🛰️ From Data to Impact: The Story Behind Mapping Smallholder Oil Palm Plantations After graduating and completing my research on Gambier tissue culture, I never expected that my next step would take me out of the lab and into the field — specifically, into collecting and mapping data from smallholder oil palm farms. In this job, I’ve learned that data is more than just numbers or coordinates on a map. Behind every point I mark, there’s a farmer, a family, and a story of perseverance in keeping their land productive. 📍My days are spent visiting farms, measuring plots, conducting interviews, and mapping coordinates using GPS devices and digital applications. Sometimes under the scorching sun, sometimes in the rain — yet it’s always rewarding to see field data slowly form a bigger picture: the map of farmers’ lives. Through this experience, I’ve learned things I never found in the lab: 🌴 The importance of communication and collaboration with farmers. 📊 The value of data accuracy for supporting sustainable programs and policies. 💚 And how technology can make agriculture more efficient and fair. I’ve realized that whether it’s lab research or field mapping, they share the same goal — to support the sustainability of Indonesian agriculture. ✨ Each day in the field brings new lessons. And I want to keep learning, especially about how technology, data, and people can work together to build a smarter, more equitable agricultural system. #Agriculture #OilPalm #Mapping #AgriculturalData #Agritech #GIS #PrecisionAgriculture #Sustainability #IndonesianFarmers #MappingJourney #CareerStory

🤖 From Data to Harvest: How AI and IoT Are Redefining Farm Productivity In agriculture, every decision — when to water, when to harvest, how much to fertilize — impacts yield, cost, and sustainability. But most farmers still rely on intuition, not data. At F2T (Farms2Tables), we’re changing that equation with AI-driven analytics and IoT integration — turning raw farm data into predictive intelligence that drives productivity and profitability. 🌾 The Core Problem Across Southeast Asia: 40% of crop loss comes from poor timing or inaccurate farm decisions Overuse of fertilizer and water increases cost by up to 25% annually Weather uncertainty leads to unstable supply for buyers and processors Farmers have data all around them — but no system to capture, process, or act on it. 💡 F2T’s AI + IoT Architecture Our platform integrates edge IoT devices (soil sensors, weather stations, irrigation nodes) with cloud-based AI models that learn from real-world conditions across thousands of farms. 1️⃣ IoT Layer: Real-time monitoring of soil moisture, nutrient levels, and climate data Low-cost devices built for rural connectivity (LoRaWAN / 4G hybrid) 2️⃣ AI Engine: Predicts yield outcomes and detects stress signals (drought, disease, nutrient imbalance) Recommends action plans directly in the farmer dashboard Learns continuously from each harvest cycle 3️⃣ Marketplace Feedback Loop: Links yield forecasts to market demand and pricing trends Helps farmers plan production around verified buyers Reduces mismatch between supply and real-time demand 📊 Impact Highlights 15–20% yield increase observed in pilot farms (rice, pepper, and coffee) 30% reduction in water & fertilizer use 92% AI prediction accuracy on crop maturity and harvest window Data processed: >3TB per season across 1,200 IoT-enabled farms 💰 Why It Matters for Investors This is not just technology — it’s a new financial layer for agriculture. AI yield prediction allows: Risk-adjusted lending through verified farm data Dynamic pricing and forward contracts for buyers Insurance automation triggered by sensor readings Every byte of data collected increases asset intelligence — and every insight improves ROI predictability for capital entering agriculture. That’s how tech and finance converge to build the next generation of resilient food systems. 🌱 We’re inviting strategic investors and AgriTech partners to join our growth phase as we scale IoT infrastructure and AI training models across Vietnam and the Mekong region in 2026. 📩 khuetruong@gmail.com #AgriTech #AI #IoT #SmartFarming #AgriFintech #F2T #Farms2Tables #PrecisionFarming #ImpactInvestment #DigitalAgriculture #TechForGood #AgriInnovation #InvestInVietnam #SustainableFarming #AgriData #AgriIntelligence
