    [GRAPHIQUE 1] L’été 2026 est, de loin, le + chaud jamais observé en France, devançant 2003 de 0,8°C. Seulement 5 jours sous les normales, contre 86 au-dessus. Il laisse derrière lui une agriculture en lambeaux et des écosystèmes à l’agonie. Le froid durable sous les normes n'existe clairement plus depuis 5 ans en France. Avec +3.8°C en juin, +3.7°C en juillet et +3.3°C en août, jamais la France n'avait enchainé de telles anomalies. Et la chaleur fera son reto ur dès le début du mois de septembre, de façon durable, notamment dans le sud de la France… L’été météorologique s’achève, mais nous sommes loin d’être tirés d’affaire. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [GRAPHIQUE 2, CARTE 3 et CARTE 4] En termes d’intensité, la sécheresse de 2026 (courbe noir du graphique) est clairement la plus intense jamais observée en France à l’échelle nationale. À l’échelle régionale, le constat est tout aussi exceptionnel : du Poitou jusqu’à l’Alsace, une vaste partie du pays connaît la sécheresse la plus intense jamais enregistrée (rouge sur la carte). Le retour des pluies ces dix derniers jours a permis de limiter un peu la casse. Mais le répit pourrait être de courte durée : avec le retour de la chaleur début septembre, la sécheresse pourrait de nouveau atteindre des niveaux records pour cette période de l’année (sous 2022 et 1976). En terme de sévérité (intensité * durée), on ne peut pas encore se prononcer, la sécheresse 2026 étant encore loin d'être terminée.

    Je pense que l’on peut désormais affirmer que la France traverse la plus grandes catastrophe agricole nationale depuis 1945. Sans aide publique, 30 000 à 35 000 exploitations pourraient se retrouver en situation de faillite, soit près de 10 % des exploitations agricoles françaises. C’est monstrueux. Le constat devient donc difficile à éviter : notre modèle agricole n’est pas suffisamment préparé au changement climatique qui arrive. C’est aussi le résultat d’un échec politique collectif : les gouvernements successifs n’ont pas suffisamment pris la mesure de l’ampleur des bouleversements que le changement climatique impose déjà, et imposera demain, à notre agriculture. Voici 3 propositions nationales pour adapter notre agriculture au changement climatique.

    La fin de la sécheresse (météorologique) a été marquée par le début de la saison des orages méditerranéens offrant un spectacle grandiose durant l'intégralité de la nuit passée. Quelques centaines de photos entre l'Hortus (ici à droite) et le Pic Saint Loup (ici sortant du nuage à gauche), dont de nombreux coups de foudre ramifiés ! Il va me falloir des semaines pour tout traiter !

    On enchaîne. Il est maintenant très probable que nous allons vivre l'El-Nino le plus intense depuis le début de son observation sur Terre (et surement depuis des siècles). Les premiers effets se font sentir avec un décrochage total des températures mondiales. Le mois d'août 2026 pourrait être le mois d'août le plus chaud sur Terre depuis le début des mesures. Nous ne sommes qu'à 0.11°C du record absolu mondial de température et 0.01°C du record absolu de la surface des océans. La méditerranée enchaîne les records absolus de température avec une canicule marine qui dure depuis des semaines avec jusqu'à +3 à +6°C d'anomalie. Les derniers relevés montrent qu'avec une moyenne de 28.5°C, la surface de la mer Méditerranée vient de battre son record absolu de température. En d'autres termes, la mer Méditerranée n'a jamais été aussi chaude tous mois confondus. Ce n'est que le début. Nous sommes partis pour 1 an d'incroyables records à l'échelle planétaire.

🏠 Automated Moving House System: Troubleshooting & Optimization During my internship at Cosmos Automation Systems (Pvt) Ltd, I contributed to troubleshooting and optimizing the Automated Moving House (Roof) System at the Bathalegoda Agricultural Research Centre. 🌱 The system was already implemented with a rain sensor and limit switches to detect rainfall and control roof position. However, it required troubleshooting to restore reliable operation. 🤖 🎯 The Objective: Restore reliable roof operation and optimize performance for faster response to rainfall. 👨‍🔧 My Role: 🔹 Fault Diagnosis Under supervisor guidance, I systematically diagnosed the system: Inspected the rain sensor for physical damage Checked electrical continuity and signal output Verified power supply Confirmed the sensor had failed due to environmental exposure 🔧 🔹 Rain Sensor Replacement Selected and installed a new rain sensor Ensured proper positioning and electrical connections Verified signal output to the Arduino controller 🌧️ 🔹 System Testing After replacement: Tested system under simulated rainfall Verified roof closed immediately upon detection Confirmed reliable operation across multiple cycles ✅ 🔹 Limit Switch Optimization Measured current roof travel time Adjusted limit switch positions to reduce travel distance Tested modified system for faster operation ⏱️ 🔹 Performance Validation Tested complete system multiple times Confirmed reliable detection and faster response Documented improved performance metrics 📊 ✅ Key Achievements: ✔️ Diagnosed and replaced faulty rain sensor 🔧 ✔️ Restored reliable weather-responsive roof operation 🌧️ ✔️ Reduced roof operation time through limit switch optimization ⏱️ ✔️ Validated system performance through rigorous testing ✅ 💻 Skills Gained: 🔹 Systematic fault diagnosis 🔹 Sensor replacement and calibration 🔹 Limit switch positioning and optimization 🔹 System testing and validation 🔹 Performance measurement and improvement 💭 Reflection: This project taught me that maintenance and optimization are just as important as new installations. 🏆 An AI-powered farming machine developed in India has won first prize in France. And what makes this story special is that it was not built for luxury offices or large corporations. It was built for Indian farmers, by someone who understood their problems closely. Whenever we talk about farmers, the conversation often ends with sympathy. We discuss rising diesel prices. We discuss the high cost of tractors. We discuss how large machines struggle inside India’s small and fragmented farms. We also talk about farmers manually spraying crops while being directly exposed to harmful chemicals. But after discussing all this, we often stop. In Andhra Pradesh, Srikanth Vajrala decided that farmers did not need another speech. They needed a practical solution. ⚙️ A Machine Built Around Real Problems-- He founded Farm Robo and created the Farm Robo R1. It is a fully autonomous, battery-powered tractor. No driver is required. And this AI-powered machine is reportedly cheaper than a Maruti Alto. What impressed me was how clearly it was designed around the reality of Indian farms. Traditional tractors are often too large and expensive for small farmers. The Farm Robo R1 is compact enough to move through smaller fields where heavy machinery may struggle. Because it runs on battery power, it can also reduce the daily burden of diesel costs. 🌾 It Does More Than Drive The R1 can perform rotary tilling to loosen the soil. It can handle stubble mowing to clear dry grass. But its most important feature may be automated crop spraying. Many farmers still spray chemicals manually, putting their health at risk every time they enter the field. This machine removes the farmer from direct exposure to those toxic chemicals. An impressive piece of technology, It becomes something that can protect a farmer’s health, time, income and dignity. 🏆 And the World Has Already Noticed The startup won the “Agriculture Robot of the Year” award in France. For me, that recognition says something powerful about Indian innovation. Some of our most meaningful ideas are not being built only for people sitting behind laptops. 🔬 This Is What Indian R&D Should Look Like-- Research and development should not end inside a laboratory. Its real value begins when it reaches the people who need it most. When technology reduces diesel costs. When robotics protects farmers from chemical exposure. When advanced machines become affordable for ordinary people. Indian farmers do not only need sympathy. They need founders who listen, R&D teams that understand ground reality, and an ecosystem willing to support such solutions. The future of farming may not be about replacing farmers.
