Dans le cadre de l'activité de recherche intitulée « Augmenter le rendement des cultures maraîchères et leur résistance aux stress abiotiques et biotiques grâce à l'ingénierie microbienne du sol », l'équipe de recherche commence à se concentrer sur la lutte biologique. L’équipe utilise des souches bactériennes exclusives, isolées dans des entreprises agricoles canadiennes, qui se sont présentées comme favorisant la croissance des plantes, luttant contre les pathogènes et améliorant la tolérance à la sécheresse. Les chercheurs mènent des expériences en laboratoire et en serre, ainsi que des essais à petite échelle sur le terrain. Dr. Kombate brings over 16 years of experience in impact investing, climate finance, and renewable energy access across Africa. His leadership roles with Camco Clean Energy, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and the Africa Enterprise Challenge Fund have shaped innovative financing models and sustainable investment portfolios across the continent. With board-level experience in organizations driving sustainable investment and agritech innovation, and an active role on investment committees supporting clean energy financing, Dr. Kombate’s expertise will greatly strengthen GCEC’s mission to accelerate Ghana’s transition to a circular, inclusive, and resilient economy. His strong background in finance and sustainability, anchored by a PhD in Accounting and Finance from De Montfort University and a Master’s in Development Finance from the University of Stellenbosch Business School, positions him to guide the Centre toward long-term impact, innovation, and institutional sustainability. We look forward to Dr. Kombate’s leadership in advancing GCEC’s work on circular economy innovation, green industry partnerships, and smart financing for inclusive growth.
