Subject: Proactive IoT Development: Simulating our "Smart Hydrogel Beads encapsulating PGPR" Monitoring System As part of my interdisciplinary lab project on "Smart Biodegradable Hydrogel Beads encapsulating PGPR with IOT ," I'm responsible for the IoT system that monitors soil moisture. With our physical hardware (ESP32, multiplexer, sensors) still on the way, I took the initiative to build and validate the entire system virtually using the Wokwi simulator. What I built: A complete circuit simulation with an ESP32 and a multiplexer to manage inputs from 10 separate sensors. I used potentiometers as functional stand-ins for the soil moisture sensors, allowing me to test the analog data reading and logic. I integrated this virtual setup with the Blynk IoT app, creating a mobile dashboard with 10 individual gauges to visualize the readings from each sensor. This simulation confirms our design is robust and our dashboard is ready. We're now fully prepared for seamless hardware integration the moment our components arrive.
