    [GRAPHIQUE 1] L’été 2026 est, de loin, le + chaud jamais observé en France, devançant 2003 de 0,8°C. Seulement 5 jours sous les normales, contre 86 au-dessus. Il laisse derrière lui une agriculture en lambeaux et des écosystèmes à l’agonie. Le froid durable sous les normes n'existe clairement plus depuis 5 ans en France. Avec +3.8°C en juin, +3.7°C en juillet et +3.3°C en août, jamais la France n'avait enchainé de telles anomalies. Et la chaleur fera son reto ur dès le début du mois de septembre, de façon durable, notamment dans le sud de la France… L’été météorologique s’achève, mais nous sommes loin d’être tirés d’affaire. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [GRAPHIQUE 2, CARTE 3 et CARTE 4] En termes d’intensité, la sécheresse de 2026 (courbe noir du graphique) est clairement la plus intense jamais observée en France à l’échelle nationale. À l’échelle régionale, le constat est tout aussi exceptionnel : du Poitou jusqu’à l’Alsace, une vaste partie du pays connaît la sécheresse la plus intense jamais enregistrée (rouge sur la carte). Le retour des pluies ces dix derniers jours a permis de limiter un peu la casse. Mais le répit pourrait être de courte durée : avec le retour de la chaleur début septembre, la sécheresse pourrait de nouveau atteindre des niveaux records pour cette période de l’année (sous 2022 et 1976). En terme de sévérité (intensité * durée), on ne peut pas encore se prononcer, la sécheresse 2026 étant encore loin d'être terminée.

    Je pense que l’on peut désormais affirmer que la France traverse la plus grandes catastrophe agricole nationale depuis 1945. Sans aide publique, 30 000 à 35 000 exploitations pourraient se retrouver en situation de faillite, soit près de 10 % des exploitations agricoles françaises. C’est monstrueux. Le constat devient donc difficile à éviter : notre modèle agricole n’est pas suffisamment préparé au changement climatique qui arrive. C’est aussi le résultat d’un échec politique collectif : les gouvernements successifs n’ont pas suffisamment pris la mesure de l’ampleur des bouleversements que le changement climatique impose déjà, et imposera demain, à notre agriculture. Voici 3 propositions nationales pour adapter notre agriculture au changement climatique.

    La fin de la sécheresse (météorologique) a été marquée par le début de la saison des orages méditerranéens offrant un spectacle grandiose durant l'intégralité de la nuit passée. Quelques centaines de photos entre l'Hortus (ici à droite) et le Pic Saint Loup (ici sortant du nuage à gauche), dont de nombreux coups de foudre ramifiés ! Il va me falloir des semaines pour tout traiter !

    On enchaîne. Il est maintenant très probable que nous allons vivre l'El-Nino le plus intense depuis le début de son observation sur Terre (et surement depuis des siècles). Les premiers effets se font sentir avec un décrochage total des températures mondiales. Le mois d'août 2026 pourrait être le mois d'août le plus chaud sur Terre depuis le début des mesures. Nous ne sommes qu'à 0.11°C du record absolu mondial de température et 0.01°C du record absolu de la surface des océans. La méditerranée enchaîne les records absolus de température avec une canicule marine qui dure depuis des semaines avec jusqu'à +3 à +6°C d'anomalie. Les derniers relevés montrent qu'avec une moyenne de 28.5°C, la surface de la mer Méditerranée vient de battre son record absolu de température. En d'autres termes, la mer Méditerranée n'a jamais été aussi chaude tous mois confondus. Ce n'est que le début. Nous sommes partis pour 1 an d'incroyables records à l'échelle planétaire.

Let that sink in. 🌍🇨🇲 I’m an agricultural engineer in Cameroon, and I want to show you 5 numbers that explain everything wrong (and everything RIGHT) with African agriculture right now. 📊 Number 1: $100 BILLION+ leaves the continent every year to buy food from other countries. Rice, wheat, tomato paste, palm oil — stuff Africa has the soil, the sun, and the farmers to grow. 📊 Number 2: Africa grows OVER HALF the world’s cassava. Half. But we produce just 5% of the world’s starch from it. Why? 🌾 Why TaniHub Failed: A QA SDET's Postmortem Indonesia's most hyped agritech startup had it all: ✅ $82.5M+ from MDI Ventures, BRI Ventures, Openspace Ventures ✅ Presidential praise from Joko Widodo ✅ 3 platforms: marketplace, logistics, lending ✅ A noble mission: "helping farmers" Yet by May 2024, its lending license was revoked. Its CEO got 9 years in prison. Most blame "agriculture is hard." I see a different story - QA failures that made the business model unsustainable. Here's what went wrong: 📊 HIST Failures 1. Never tested: "Can farmers actually repay loans?" 2. Operational costs crushed B2C - closed warehouses in Bandung & Bali 3. Burned through $82.5M in record time 4. Data was fabricated - prosecutors proved it 🎯 RST (Risk) Failures 1. Credit risk: 63.93% non-performing loans - only 36% repaid on time 2. Regulatory risk: OJK revoked license - failed minimum equity & supervision 3. Fraud risk: Executives manipulated data, used funds for personal gain 4. تخيل تبقى تعبان جدًا.. بس مفيش أي أعراض باينة عليك ولا حاسس بحاجة! 🩺 تروح للدكتور، يبص عليك ثواني ويقولك: "أنت عندك كذا وكذا!".. أهو النبات بتاعك بقى بيعمل نفس الحركة بالضبط.. ممكن يكون بيموت بالبطيء وعنده مشكلة خطيرة، بس عينك المجردة مش شايفاها! 🌾👀 في عالم الزراعة الذكية، بنسمي الحالة دي "الجوع الخفي" (Hidden Hunger).. النبات جائع أو عنده نقص عنصر معين، بس ساكت ومش ظاهر عليه أعراض إجهاد واضحة. طب إزاي بنقفشه قبل ما يفوت الأوان؟ 🧐 هنا بييجي دور الاستشعار عن بعد (Remote Sensing). 💡 إزاي الاستشعار بيقرأ "أفكار" النبات؟ الاستشعار هنا دوره انه يحلل الاطوال الموجية الممتصة والمنعكسة من النبات بتاعي. 🌈 عوضين: يعني ايه يا هندسة ماتكلكعهاش علينا الله يرضى عليك.😂 بص يا عوضين باختصار وببساطة شديدة جدا ....... مش النبات في العادي لون اخضر مزهز وحلو كدة ,,, هتقولي اه ,,, هقولك طب عارف ليه ؟ هقولك يا سيدي لان زي ماقال الحسن البصري احنا بنشوف بسبب الضوء المنعكس على عنينا وده بالظبط اللي بيعمله الاستشعار. طول ما النبات سليم ومظبوط، هيديك على مؤشرات الاستشعار لون أخضر صريح وقوي. 💚👌 النبات السليم والأخضر المزهزه ده، عشان يعكس الضوء الأخضر للقمر الصناعي أو الدرون، بيمتص: 1️⃣ ضوء أزرق (طول موجي 400 - 500 نانومتر) 2️⃣ ضوء أحمر (طول موجي 660 - 680 نانومتر) 🚨 طب لو النبات "مزنوق" وعنده مشكلة؟ الشاشة والمؤشرات هتكشفه فورًا: 🔹 نقص النيتروجين: الكلوروفيل يقل 👈 يقل امتصاص الأشعة 👈 ينعكس ضوء مختلف تمامًا، والمؤشر يدي إنذار. 🔹 نقص الفسفور: حواف الورقة بتقلب بنفسجي 👈 المؤشر يلقط التغير في الطول الموجي فورًا قبل ما عيونك تلاحظه في الغيط كله. 🔹 اصفرار الأوراق: يمتص كمية كبيرة من الضوء البنفسجي 👈 يظهر لون غير طبيعي في خريطة حقلُك. 🎯 الخلاصة يا هندسة: الاستشعار عن بعد مش مجرد صور ملونة.. ده "أشعة X" لزرعك! بيخليك تسمّد بالملّي، تلحق مشاكلك بدري، وتوفر فلوس هدر التسميد 💵📈 بس حركة صايعة كمان: لو ربطت الاستشعار ده مع حساسات تربة (Sensors) هتاخد القوة الكاملة! لأن ساعات العنصر بيكون متوفر في التربة بكثرة، بس النبات مش عارف يمتصه.. From Academic Learning to Real-World Impact: AI, Robotics, and Precision Agriculture for Libya I am pleased to share my participation in the 10th International Conference of the Sri Lankan Academics’ Association in Japan – SLAcJ, held on 13–14 June 2026, where I presented my research paper: “Proposed Framework for Autonomous AI-Driven Swarm Intelligence in Precision Agriculture: Localizing SDGs for Libyan Palm and Olive Groves.” The research proposes a decentralized technological framework integrating Artificial Intelligence, Swarm Intelligence, autonomous UAVs, Edge Computing, lightweight CNN models, and IoT sensors to support precision agriculture in remote Libyan environments. Rather than depending entirely on cloud connectivity, the proposed model brings intelligence directly to autonomous drones, enabling real-time image processing, early pest detection, and agricultural monitoring in areas with limited or unavailable internet access. One of the most meaningful moments of the conference was reconnecting with Professor Jay Rajasekera, whom I had not met since my time at the International University of Japan (IUJ). Although our meeting was online, I was genuinely pleased to see him again-especially as he personally participated in the discussion of my research. This experience reminded me that academic relationships can continue well beyond graduation and later become part of new research, professional, and innovation journeys. The proposed framework aims to contribute to: - Early detection of pests and plant diseases - More efficient water and irrigation management - Autonomous coordination among agricultural drones - Reduced dependence on continuous internet connectivity - Localization of AI and robotics solutions for Libya - Supporting food security and sustainable agricultural development The research also contributes to the localization of the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Zero Hunger, Industry and Innovation, and Responsible Consumption and Production. I am grateful to the conference organizers, academic partners, professors, and participants for this valuable opportunity. Late Harvest ran from 2016 to 2019. Four editions. 400+ producers across six regions of Honduras. Co-founded with Saša Šestić — 2015 World Barista Champion — to connect exceptional Honduran coffee directly to specialty buyers. The coffee cupped at specialty grade, competitive internationally. And the farmers growing it were selling through commodity channels at $2.50/lb. The same coffee reached $41/lb when we connected it directly to buyers in Japan, South Korea, Australia. That's not a quality gap. It's an infrastructure gap. No direct market access. No verified traceability. No mechanism for the farmer's quality to translate into a price that reflected it. When COVID stopped Late Harvest in 2020, we had four years of data on what that infrastructure gap actually costs and a clear picture of what closing it required. Harvverse is that infrastructure. Not a better version of what existed. A different structure: co-investment instead of debt, satellite verification instead of trust, direct partnership instead of commodity intermediaries.
