🌱 Pourquoi l’explicabilité est essentielle dans l’IA appliquée au végétal Dans l’alimentaire et l’agriculture, l’IA devient un outil incontournable. Mais un modèle performant ne suffit plus. Ce qui fait réellement la différence aujourd’hui, c’est l’explicabilité – la capacité de comprendre pourquoi l’algorithme recommande une action, détecte un risque ou prédit un comportement végétal. Dans le monde végétal, chaque décision dépend d’une multitude de facteurs : hydratation des fibres réactions en chaîne (température, humidité, stress) texture, structure, transformation variabilité naturelle des plantes comportement du sol et microclimat Un modèle « boîte noire » ne peut pas être utilisé en R&D ou sur le terrain. Les chercheurs, les ingénieurs et les professionnels ont besoin d’un raisonnement transparent, capable d’expliquer les mécanismes. 💡 Un modèle peut être dupliqué. Mais un système explicable, ancré dans la compréhension des processus végétaux, devient réellement utile. En travaillant sur mes projets – que ce soit l’irrigation intelligente d’une serre solaire ou la modélisation des textures végétales – j’ai constaté à quel point l’explicabilité transforme un prototype en un outil scientifique : 👉 on peut valider les hypothèses 👉 comprendre les erreurs 👉 ajuster les paramètres 👉 créer des jeux de données plus propres 👉 et surtout… faire confiance aux résultats Les données de qualité sont l’autre pilier essentiel. Dans l’IA végétale, le dataset est de l’or : il doit capturer la complexité du vivant, refléter les variabilités naturelles et permettre de construire une logique robuste. L’avenir du food-tech et de l’agroalimentaire passera par des IA : explicables transparentes ancrées dans les phénomènes réels capables d’aider, pas de remplacer co-construites avec les experts du végétal Et eu égard à la vitesse à laquelle le domaine évolue, je suis convaincue que les profils hybrides – entre science végétale, compréhension culinaire, data et IA – auront un rôle clé. I attend at the Italy-Saudi Arabia Business Forum 2025, today 25 November, in Riyadh, for Trentino Sviluppo S.p.A. and Trentino. It represents one of the largest bilateral economic events in recent years, as well as a strategic appointment for economic relations between the two countries. Organised by ITA - Italian Trade Agency with the support of the Italian Embassy in Riyadh and the main Saudi counterparts. Entrepreneurs and managers from over 430 Italian companies from various sectors, for a total of 805 Italian participants registered as of today, including 385 from the infrastructure sector, 146 from high-tech sectors, 99 from the pharmaceutical sector, 95 from agritech and 80 from the sports industry. For Italian companies (which in the first nine months of 2025 exported goods worth 4.4 billion Euros to the Kingdom, an increase of 4.3% compared to the previous year, according to Ice data) this is a key market for further increasing their exports, especially in this historical phase of redefinition of the balance and routes of global trade. The Real Revolution in Agriculture Isn’t Technology; It’s Perspective. We talk a lot about new tools in farming today, such as hydroponics, soil sensors, drones, AI, and climate dashboards, but here’s the truth: we don’t say enough. Technology didn’t change agriculture, but farmers who changed their mindset did, because the biggest shift happening in agriculture right now isn’t equipment—it’s attitude. Old Mindset: "Farming is hard, dirty work meant for those with no other options.” New Mindset: "Farming is a science, a business, and a profession worth mastering.” That’s the revolution, and it’s happening quietly in greenhouses, in hydroponic farms, in large-scale plantations, in backyards, and in the minds of people who refuse to accept that food production must stay the same forever. Technology Didn’t Replace Farmers—It Empowered Them. - Sensor data didn’t grow the plant. - Drones didn’t make decisions. - AI didn’t plant the seeds. But farmers who embraced these tools suddenly grew with more precision, less waste, and higher predictability. It’s not tech vs. tradition, but it’s wisdom plus innovation that finally meet each other halfway. Why does this matter? Because we’re entering a time when: - Climate patterns are erratic - Arable land is shrinking - Youth are choosing digital careers - Food demand is accelerating If agriculture doesn’t evolve, food security collapses. Not in 50 years but in the lifetime of the next generation. The New Revolution is not hydroponics, automation, or smart farming. Those are just tools. The revolution is farmers who are willing to unlearn, relearn, and transform.
