Patiala-based IIT Ropar has launched the ambitious "100 Startups in 100 Days" – a national deep-tech acceleration program officially recognized as a pre-summit event for the India AI Impact Summit 2026 (announced by PM Narendra Modi at the France AI Action Summit, set for Feb 19-20 in New Delhi)! 🇮🇳💡
Kicking off with a flagship event on December 16, 2025, at the IIT Ropar campus, the initiative – powered by IIT Ropar's TIF (iHub-AWaDH under DST's NM-ICPS), ANNAM.AI (MoE's AI CoE for Agriculture), and TBIF – will nurture early-stage founders in cutting-edge domains like AgriTech, WaterTech, IoT, Cybersecurity, and Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) through intensive mentoring, technology access, grant funding (up to ₹30 lakh+ for 30+ innovators), investor connections, and ecosystem linkages.
Launched by dignitaries including former IOC CMD Shrikant M Vaidya, Capacity Building Commission Chairperson Adil Zainulbhai, and IIT Ropar Director Prof. Rajeev Ahuja, the program draws support from global partners like Israel's Reichman University Runway Incubator, plus Indian heavyweights: UPES (Uttarakhand), C4CT (Sikkim), ACIC GIET (Odisha), Krishna Vishwa Vidyapeeth (Maharashtra), IIT Tirupati Navavishkar I-Hub, and banks like HDFC and Canara. Ahuja hailed it as a "movement to empower entrepreneurs with speed, scale, and sustainability," building on earlier editions like the SPRINT North (Gurugram, Sep 2025) that grew portfolios to 160+ startups with ₹17 Cr invested and ₹110 Cr raised externally.
This mission-mode drive aligns with Atmanirbhar Bharat and IndiaAI Mission, democratizing deep-tech access for Tier-2/3 founders in a $15B+ ecosystem – with the broader "100 Startups 100 Days" aiming to launch 100 ventures in 100 days nationwide.
