On enchaîne.

36 hours. One problem statement. No trophy — but priceless learning. 🚀 The Smart India Hackathon reminded us that winning isn’t the only outcome that matters. This was our first hackathon. Our mission was to build Project AgniSutra — a unified digital agronomist that empowers farmers using Satellite Data, IoT, and Explainable AI. In a sleepless 36-hour sprint, we didn't just build a frontend; we engineered a resilient system grounded in agricultural science. The Engineering Wins we are proud of: Fault-Tolerant Architecture: We tackled the "Optical Blindness" of satellite imagery by designing a hybrid system that gracefully falls back to IoT sensor data when cloud cover blocks the satellite view. Beyond Black Boxes: We implemented Explainable AI (SHAP) to make our Deep Learning fertilizer recommendations transparent and trustable for farmers. Scientific Precision: We calibrated our training data using the ICAR-STCR mass balance framework, ensuring our model follows real agronomic principles rather than just statistical trends. We didn’t make it to the winner’s list, but we walked away with something far more valuable: Impact First: How to translate complex agronomy into simple, actionable insights. Resilience: How to handle live API failures and messy real-world data in real-time. Collaboration: Coordinating full-stack integration (FastAPI + Flutter & Next Js) under extreme pressure. And we are not stopping here. We believe in this solution, and we will continue to refine AgniSutra to make it a truly useful, deployment-ready tool for the farming community. A big shoutout to my team — Tanmay Kumar Nayak, Dipankar Ghosh,Sunista Agarwal, Aditya Raj, and Priyanshu Sahu — for the grit and dedication. Grateful to the evaluators Dr. Sudarshan Shende, Bhagyashree Jagtap, and Dr. Rituraj Patil for the valuable feedback. Sometimes you don’t win the hackathon, but you gain a mindset that stays with you. #SmartIndiaHackathon #SIH2025 #DeepLearning #AgriTech #SystemDesign #AI #Teamwork #LearningOverWinning #FutureReady

There were many moments when this felt far away — today, I’m grateful it didn’t stop us from trying. 🏆 I’m happy to share that our team 'Team Blessed' won the Smart India Hackathon 2025, hosted at G.H. Raisoni College of Engineering, Nagpur. This achievement is less about the win and more about the journey — building under pressure, learning from failures, and working together to solve a real-world problem with real impact. 🌱 Problem Statement (SIH25074 – Government of Kerala): We addressed a critical gap in modern agriculture: the lack of timely, personalized, and reliable guidance for farmers. Generic advisories often fail to account for local soil, weather, crop history, and farming practices, often leading to avoidable losses. 🤖 What we built: An AI-powered personal farming assistant that understands a farmer’s context — crop, land, weather, and past activities — and provides actionable, localized insights. The system supports better decision-making, record maintenance, and easier access to benefits, turning data into real on-ground impact. 🙏 Grateful for the people behind this journey: My teammates Tejashwani Mishra , Mradul Gandhi , Ankit kumar , Rudraksha Singh Chauhan , Nilesh Kumar — thank you for the trust, collaboration, and countless late nights. Special thanks to our senior Shreya Pal for her guidance and support throughout this journey. Our mentors Pravin Nikure sir, and Jagdish Chopde sir for their constant guidance and honest feedback. Thankful to G.H. Raisoni College of Engineering(GHRCE), Nagpur and Google Developer Groups on Campus GHRCE team who stayed awake with us, pushed us, and ensured we never felt stuck even. Grateful to Smart India Hackathon , AICTE and MoE's Innovation Cell for empowering students to build solutions that matter. Carrying these learnings forward — with gratitude and purpose. 🚀 #SmartIndiaHackathon2025 #SIH2025 #AIForGood #AgriTech #SIHWinners2025

Most people talk about “sustainability”… but very few actually know what it takes to make farming both profitable and sustainable at the same time. Especially when you’re responsible for feeding millions of people. That’s the world Amy Yoder, CEO of Global Crop Solutions, has been operating in her entire life — as a sixth-generation farmer and one of the most respected leaders in modern agriculture. And the crazy part? What Amy is doing right now will directly shape the next decade of farming, food production, and land management. In this episode of The Founders Table, we unpack: • How growing up on a 6th-generation farm shaped her leadership • The shift from hands-on farming → corporate innovation → CEO • Why profitability and sustainability don’t have to compete • The ag innovations that nobody is talking about — but will change everything • The hardest roles to hire and retain in agriculture (and why it matters) • The future of soil health, fertilizer technology, and regenerative farming • Her long-term vision for Global Crop Solutions and the farmers they serve If you want to understand the real forces shaping the future of agriculture — the kind that impact food supply, environmental health, and farming profitability — this conversation with Amy is a must-watch. 🚀 Built my first AI-powered app for the upcoming Hackathon! "Excited to be participating in the GenAI Hackathon – Chandigarh 2025, organized by ML Chandigarh in collaboration with Google for Developers!" on Dec 20th! 👨‍💻 To prepare, we built a working prototype: AnnDaata AI 🌾. It’s a Machine Learning tool designed to help farmers in India. It takes soil parameters (Nitrogen, pH, Rainfall) and predicts the best crop to maximize yield. ✨ Key Features: •AI Engine: Uses a Random Forest Classifier to analyze soil data. •Vernacular Support: Works in English, Hindi, and Punjabi to be accessible to real farmers. •No Install Needed: Runs directly in the browser via Streamlit. This project has been a massive learning curve for me. I went from basic Python knowledge to deploying a live ML app in just a few days. Still learning the deep math behind the algorithms, but it feels amazing to see the code actually solve a problem. Check out the live app here: [https://lnkd.in/gm7XqvNU]. Code is open-source on GitHub: [https://lnkd.in/g8gyxVfm] Wish us luck for the main event! 🤞 #MachineLearning #Python #AgriTech #StudentProject #BuildInPublic #Hackathon #Streamlit
