Turning ideas into impact , that’s what happened at Entlaq’s Agritech Hackathon at Nile University.
Over the past few days at Nile University, participants in Entlaq’s Agritech Hackathon progressed from idea to innovation through a series of focused workshops.
The journey began with Problem Definition & Research, guided by Aya Gamal Senior Associate in Startup Acceleration at IECC -NU. They learned how to clearly define agricultural challenges, uncover root causes using the 5 Whys technique, and validate their problems through market research.
Next, in the Ideation Workshop with Leena Hisham Associate Community Partnerships at IECC -NU,, teams brainstormed innovative solutions, developed customer personas, and prioritized ideas based on feasibility, viability, and desirability to form strong initial concepts.
Under the guidance of Amira Yassin Product & Industrial Design Team Lead, Nile University and Gehad Ashraf, Senior Industrial Designer, Nile University, participants mapped customer journeys and designed solution flows during the Solution Design & Prototyping session. They created simple prototypes like sketches and wireframes to bring their ideas to life.
During Refinement & Testing, teams tested their prototypes, gathered feedback, and improved their solutions to prepare for pitching.
The hackathon included Pitch Preparation & Final Demo, where teams honed their presentations and showcased their innovations to a judging panel, highlighting the real impact their ideas can have on agriculture.
These sessions successfully equipped participants with crucial skills and frameworks to innovate effectively, giving a strong foundation for impactful agricultural solutions.
During Refinement & Testing, teams rigorously tested their prototypes with feedback from peers and mentors. This iterative process helped them identify gaps, improve features, and optimize user flow, ultimately preparing stronger solutions for the final stage.
The hackathon concluded with Pitch Preparation & Final Demo, where participants refined their presentations and showcased their polished solutions to a judging panel, demonstrating the impact their innovations could have on the agricultural sector.
Together, these workshops equipped participants with the skills and confidence to develop meaningful, innovative solutions addressing today’s agricultural challenges.
