🌱 Agri-Leaders Capacity Summit | GITAM Deemed University, Visakhapatnam 🌱
Empowering Farmers with Modern Agriculture Technologies
We, Team BioSiplen, attended the Agri-Leaders Capacity Summit held at GITAM University, Visakhapatnam — and it was much more than a routine discussion on “organic vs chemical farming.”
The summit went beyond generic narratives and focused on practical approaches to organic and natural farming, real-world implementation mechanisms, and most importantly, it provided a platform where farmers openly shared the challenges they face on the ground
🔹 Key takeaways from the sessions:
🔸 Venkat Pindipolu(Co-founder, CarbonMint)
Shared real, ground-level experiences in organic farming — highlighting labor challenges, rising input costs, and their approach to reducing farmer expenses through FPO collaborations.
🔸 T. Baburao Naidu (Former IAS Officer & Chief Guest)
Spoke about the struggles faced by tribal farmers, international recognition of Paderu species, and the importance of inclusive agricultural development.
🔸 A. Mohan Rao (APCNF – DMF Officer)
Delivered deep insights on the 9 principles of organic farming, practical organic practices, commercial sustainability, and how certifications can significantly increase farmer income.
🔸 khasim beebi shaik (Professor, GITAM)
Discussed chemical vs organic vs edible coatings on fruits and vegetables, along with post-harvest storage mechanisms — one of the most engaging sessions for farmers.
🔸 Bharani Chandra Kumar
Explained drone technology in agriculture and how AI integration can optimize spraying, monitoring, and farm decision-making.
🔸 Scientists from Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) – Sri Kadam S.T & Sri Swapnonil Banerjee
Introduced 9 indigenous technologies, offering field trials for solutions like biopesticides, biogas plants, and hydrogels — a strong push toward applied science for farmers.
🔸 Ramagudu Praveen
Presented an inspiring vision of GenAI voice agents for small farmers, enabling real-time advisory in regional languages.
🌾 Overall Reflection
This summit was not about slogans — it was about solutions, systems, and sustainability. Listening to farmers, researchers, policymakers, and innovators on the same platform made the learning deeply practical.
✨ This session will definitely shape the next steps in our journey, especially at the intersection of organic farming, technology, and farmer-first innovation.
Grateful to the organizers and speakers for such a meaningful initiative.
Looking forward to applying these learnings on the ground.
