The race to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development (UN SDGs) is no longer about ambition alone—it is about urgency, accountability, and collective action.
My contribution to the SDGs goes beyond building AI-powered solutions for agriculture, research, and public systems. It also includes mentoring emerging innovators, equipping them with the skills and mindset to translate data, AI, and machine learning into solutions for real-world challenges.
Through the DeepTech_Ready Program Mentorship Program, I have guided multiple fellows from foundational learning to impactful capstone projects, supporting their growth in technical depth and problem-solving confidence. These projects include SmartCropGuard (SCG)—an offline AI-based crop disease detection system for cassava, maize, and tomato tailored for smallholder farmers in low-connectivity communities—alongside machine learning models for heart disease prediction, cholera outbreak forecasting, and digital monitoring systems for nursing mothers, strengthening data-driven decision-making in healthcare.
At this critical moment, mentorship and leadership must be matched with solidarity. By investing in people, skills, and locally grounded innovation, we turn ideas into scalable impact, and ensure the SDGs deliver measurable outcomes.
Committed to global collaboration, knowledge exchange, and innovation-driven sustainable development.
Huge appreciation to the Honourable Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Dr. ‘Bosun Tijani, for the 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT Nigeria) Programme, Nigeria’s largest digital skills initiative, delivered in collaboration with WESOnline, DSN - Data Science Nigeria, and Google. This initiative is building the talent pipeline and innovation capacity required for Nigeria to contribute meaningfully to Agenda 2030.
