📌 AI4SD innovators win GH¢50,000 at GreenTech Innovation Challenge
Innovators under the Artificial Intelligence For Sustainable Development (AI4SD) Innovation and Entrepreneurship theme have won GH¢50,000 at the GreenTech Innovation Challenge, organised by Innohub in collaboration with Fidelity Bank Ghana.
The award was secured by Harvora Industries, a student-led agritech startup developed by participants of the AI4SD Innovation Challenge, reflecting the project’s impact in supporting innovation-driven entrepreneurship.
The GreenTech Innovation Challenge is a funding opportunity for early-stage startups developing green technologies to address challenges in agriculture, health, transportation and education.
Since 2024, the initiative has been open to startups nationwide.
This year, 367 startups applied and pitched their ideas, with only 16 startups selected, including Harvora Industries.
Under the competition’s funding structure, the top three startups received GH¢200,000, GH¢100,000 and GH¢70,000 respectively, while the remaining runners-up received GH¢50,000 each.
Harvora Industries is currently running three research and development projects across cultivation technology, AI models and plant-based food ingredients.
The startup is led by a team of eight members with backgrounds in agricultural engineering, food science, AI and automation.
Key team members include Leslie Owusu-Mensah (CEO, Lead Engineer), Rosalinda Asare (Product Design Lead, Frederick Kotey Broohm (COO),Lucian Nsiah Sarkodie (CTO, SuperSeco Lead Engineer) and Emmanuel Ampofo (Lead Production Engineer).
