On enchaîne.

🚁 Drone Technology: From the Sky to Smarter Agriculture 🌱 Agriculture is rapidly moving from traditional field observation toward data-driven, precision farming — and drone technology is becoming an important part of this transformation. As an Agricultural Engineering student, I find the combination of UAVs, sensors, GIS, remote sensing, AI and automation particularly exciting. Drones can help farmers and agricultural professionals: 🌱 Monitor crop health 🦠 Detect pests and diseases 🌿 Map weeds and nutrient stress 💧 Assess irrigation and water stress 📍 Create high-resolution field maps 📊 Estimate crop yield 🚜 Support precision spraying and input application 🤖 Enable data-driven and increasingly autonomous farm operations What makes this technology even more powerful is the integration of multispectral, thermal and RGB sensors with data analytics. A simple workflow can look like: Drone → Sensor → Data → Image Processing → NDVI/Analysis → Decision → Precision Action This represents a shift from simply collecting agricultural data to turning aerial data into actionable farm intelligence. The future I see is not just drones flying over farms. It is a connected ecosystem where: Drones + AI + GIS + IoT + Robotics + Precision Agriculture = Smarter Farming 🌾 There are still challenges — battery limitations, payload capacity, weather conditions, regulations, data processing and the cost of adoption. But the potential to improve resource efficiency, crop monitoring and decision-making is enormous. As agriculture faces increasing pressure to produce more with fewer resources, autonomous technologies could become an important part of the solution. The future of agriculture may not only be about farming the land — but also understanding it from the sky. 🚁🌾 #DroneTechnology #AgriculturalEngineering #PrecisionAgriculture #SmartFarming #UAV #AgriTech #RemoteSensing #GIS #ArtificialIntelligence #AutonomousAgriculture #DigitalAgriculture #SustainableAgriculture

“Give me a place to stand, and I will move the Earth”! The Adelaide Climate Action Week (ACAW), last week, has indeed been mostly about the words of Archimedes and towards using whatever leverage could be obtained and developed to accelerate climate action! The events I got lucky to attend and my takeaway points (Post 3 of 3): ACAW Day Four evening had the inimitable Martin K Haese welcoming us to celebrate the SA Climate Leaders Awards which recognised finalists across several categories such as Government, Business, Community and Research&Education, and the eventual winner Cherry Gardens Connect2recover (here, pic of the winners, courtesy Navtej Bal ) Last day of ACAW, Friday, was spent in a wonderfully crafted learning experience curated by AgriTech Meetup South Australia (Thanks Oli Madgett, Michael Macolino, Julia Miller) and supported by AgriFutures growAG and Hills and Fleurieu Landscape Board, and indeed the farms and projects visited. This covered some of the prominent on-ground work in the Fleurieu Peninsula for climate adaptation and resilience work afoot in South Australia, pertinent to farming, wineries, livestock, poultry, fisheries and the wider topic of biodiversity - Yundi Nature Conservancy, Ashley Farms, Forktree Project. Details here - https://lnkd.in/gWDSbKYP What a phenomenal way to end the week, listening to expert solutions and working with indomitable Tim Jarvis and Liz Blumer and their team at the Forktree Project - more details in this link - (admittedly included a sunset watching-hog roast-beer-bonfire ☺️) Adelaide Climate Action Week Research Translation – Adelaide University Yundi Nature Conservancy The Forktree Project

Agrifirst - Farmers First

What happens when a farmer moves from cucumber to bell pepper in a polyhouse? This farmer has experience with both crops, and his experience shows that every crop has a different level of care and management. With cucumber, he found the crop comparatively easy to handle. There were fewer management problems, and the production volume was higher. Now, he is growing bell pepper in his polyhouse. Bell pepper requires more care and more time, with more crop-related challenges to manage. But there is also an advantage: because the production volume is comparatively lower, the produce can be easier to sell in the market. At present, the bell pepper crop is fully loaded with fruits. Colouration has started, and the farmer is waiting for the right colour before harvesting and taking the produce to the Mandi. For him, the journey is not only about growing the crop. It is also about understanding what each crop needs and managing its challenges at the right time. He also shares how Agrifirst - Farmers First agronomist, Peeyush Sir, has been guiding him step by step whenever crop-related problems arise. Different crops. Different challenges. The right guidance helps farmers move forward with confidence. Just got certified for completing the programme AI Navigator 2026 - Summer Cohort (Send A Little Hope UK, AI For All Initiative)! Over 8 sessions, I learned the fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence and how to navigate its tools and applications. What excited me most was applying that knowledge to my own field Agriculture. For my final project, I designed SoilSense ; an AI-powered mobile app that helps small farmers conduct low-cost soil testing and receive crop-specific recommendations. AI isn't just for tech companies. It belongs in every field including the fields our farmers work every day. #AINavigation #Agriculture #AgriTech #Innovation #Learning
