    La fin de la sécheresse (météorologique) a été marquée par le début de la saison des orages méditerranéens offrant un spectacle grandiose durant l'intégralité de la nuit passée. Quelques centaines de photos entre l'Hortus (ici à droite) et le Pic Saint Loup (ici sortant du nuage à gauche), dont de nombreux coups de foudre ramifiés !     On enchaîne. Il est maintenant très probable que nous allons vivre l'El-Nino le plus intense depuis le début de son observation sur Terre (et surement depuis des siècles). Les premiers effets se font sentir avec un décrochage total des températures mondiales. Le mois d'août 2026 pourrait être le mois d'août le plus chaud sur Terre depuis le début des mesures. Nous ne sommes qu'à 0.11°C du record absolu mondial de température et 0.01°C du record absolu de la surface des océans. La méditerranée enchaîne les records absolus de température avec une canicule marine qui dure depuis des semaines avec jusqu'à +3 à +6°C d'anomalie. Les derniers relevés montrent qu'avec une moyenne de 28.5°C, la surface de la mer Méditerranée vient de battre son record absolu de température. En d'autres termes, la mer Méditerranée n'a jamais été aussi chaude tous mois confondus. Ce n'est que le début. Nous sommes partis pour 1 an d'incroyables records à l'échelle planétaire.

Today, we are continuing our field study at another site We have just completed the paddy planting process, and this time, we will be conducting a similar fertiliser trial to evaluate the impact of different fertiliser approaches under real field conditions Similar to our previous study, four fertiliser treatments will be tested here: 1. Normal mainstream fertiliser process 2. BIT biofortified fertiliser + BIT foliar biofertiliser 3. BIT biofortified fertiliser only 4. NAFAS fertiliser For us, this is an important step A fertiliser formulation should not only perform well in one controlled environment. It needs to be observed across different sites, soil conditions, water systems, and operational realities Data & evidence-driven! That is how we learn That is how we refine And that is how we build something more reliable At BioInnoTech, our goal is not just to develop agricultural inputs, but to understand how they perform in the real world with real farmers, real land, and real challenges. The goal is to make it easier for farmers to get useful information through a natural voice conversation. The assistant is designed to help with topics such as: 🌱 Crop cultivation and best practices 🐛 Pest and disease management 💧 Irrigation and water management 🌾 Fertilizers and soil health 🌦️ Weather-related farming decisions 🚜 Practical farming guidance I'm using LiveKit Agents to build the real-time voice interaction and working toward a smooth, natural, low-latency experience with AI voice technology. This project is helping me understand how AI + voice + real-time communication can be combined to solve practical problems in agriculture. Can the right LED spectrum significantly improve microgreen productivity? That was the question we set out to investigate. In our recent study on mustard microgreens here at NEXSEL, we compared three LED luminaires (Nx1.1, Nx4, and Nx6.2) under identical controlled-environment conditions. By keeping temperature, humidity, PPFD, photoperiod, and seed rate constant, we ensured that the lighting system remained the primary experimental variable. The results were encouraging. Nx6.2 consistently delivered the highest fresh biomass across two independent trials. More importantly, it achieved a 15.71:1 seed-to-harvest conversion ratio, representing approximately 18.3% higher conversion efficiency than Nx4 and 23% higher than Nx1.1. Even more interesting was the consistency the same LED remained the top performer in both experiments, demonstrating reliable and repeatable performance rather than a one-time result. This data reinforces an important principle in controlled-environment agriculture that it isn’t just the light intensity that matters light quality and luminaire design can directly influence biomass production. This is just one step in a broader effort to understand how lighting strategies can optimize microgreen production. A few weeks ago, Farmec’s product direction changed deeply. What started as SWMS has now been rebranded and refined into ROOT. At first, the idea was focused on smart water monitoring. But after speaking with greenhouse farmers, learning from feedback, and testing the product direction, the problem became clearer: Greenhouse farmers do not just need moisture readings. They need water management to become less stressful, more reliable, and more intelligent. Farmers told me about manual valves, scouting, guesswork, clogged drippers, excess water, late problem detection, and the stress of always needing someone to monitor irrigation. That changed how I saw the product. ROOT is now being built as an autonomous water management system for greenhouse farmers. It focuses on dripper-level visibility, automated irrigation control, flow verification, and alerting the farmer only when attention is needed. This pivot taught me something important: A startup should not fall in love with its first idea. It should fall in love with the problem.
