    La fin de la sécheresse (météorologique) a été marquée par le début de la saison des orages méditerranéens offrant un spectacle grandiose durant l'intégralité de la nuit passée. Quelques centaines de photos entre l'Hortus (ici à droite) et le Pic Saint Loup (ici sortant du nuage à gauche), dont de nombreux coups de foudre ramifiés ! Il va me falloir des semaines pour tout traiter !

    On enchaîne. Il est maintenant très probable que nous allons vivre l'El-Nino le plus intense depuis le début de son observation sur Terre (et surement depuis des siècles). Les premiers effets se font sentir avec un décrochage total des températures mondiales. Le mois d'août 2026 pourrait être le mois d'août le plus chaud sur Terre depuis le début des mesures. Nous ne sommes qu'à 0.11°C du record absolu mondial de température et 0.01°C du record absolu de la surface des océans. La méditerranée enchaîne les records absolus de température avec une canicule marine qui dure depuis des semaines avec jusqu'à +3 à +6°C d'anomalie. Les derniers relevés montrent qu'avec une moyenne de 28.5°C, la surface de la mer Méditerranée vient de battre son record absolu de température. En d'autres termes, la mer Méditerranée n'a jamais été aussi chaude tous mois confondus. Ce n'est que le début. Nous sommes partis pour 1 an d'incroyables records à l'échelle planétaire.

Computer Vision & AI Modeling Engineered custom Python workflows to train a YOLOv9 object detection model. Fine-tuned hyperparameters to precisely identify individual palm and coconut tree crowns, even within dense, overlapping canopies. What started as an idea to address a real challenge faced by oil palm farmers took another meaningful step forward through the Nimirndhu Nil Hackathon – 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐋𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥 Bootcamp 2025–2026. Grateful to have been part of this 3-day journey at SSM College Campus, Dindigul, organized by EDII-TN under TNYIEDP 2025–2026. 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝟐 — 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧. 𝐐𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧. 𝐑𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐞. The Master Trainer Session and Mentoring Session gave us a new perspective on our idea. We started asking ourselves: Is the problem real? Is the solution practical? Can it scale? Can it create sustainable impact? The feedback helped us rethink, refine, and strengthen our idea. 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝟑 — 𝐏𝐢𝐭𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 Standing there and explaining our idea, its real-world application, business model, and impact was more than just a presentation it was an opportunity to see how far our idea had evolved. 📍 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝟭 of building "𝗔𝘀𝗸 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶 𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗮" -> an NL-to-SQL analytics tool for Indian agricultural market prices. Today was all about laying the groundwork before writing a single line of code. 🧠 Spent time defining the problem clearly :-  Working through the idea, the architecture, and the "why" behind each design choice with AI as a thinking partner (shoutout to Claude for being a solid sounding board for this). 🔍 Did a deep dive into the existing landscape :- Researching similar tools and projects already out there, understanding what's been done, and figuring out where I could differentiate.  Turns out most "ask your data" style tools either use generic/toy datasets or aren't India-specific — that's the gap I can fill with real, live mandi data. The biggest lesson from Day 1: a few hours of research and scoping before touching code saves you from rebuilding your architecture three weeks in. Better to be slow and intentional at the start than fast and wrong. Delighted to share that our paper, "Phenology-Aware Conformal Uncertainty for Transformer-Based Satellite Image Time-Series Segmentation of Agricultural Parcels," has been accepted as a poster at the inaugural IEEE Asia-Pacific Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium (AP-GARSS 2026), Qingdao, China 🇨🇳, 11–14 October 2026, under IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society (GRSS). We pair conformal prediction with crop-phenology constraints on Sentinel-2 time series to obtain distribution-free, parcel-level prediction sets at approximately 90% coverage, with average set size reduced by over 10%. A difficulty-grouped calibration scheme further preserves fair coverage across imbalanced crop classes. We also report what did not work. None of the four auxiliary signals tested (phenology residuals, spatial consistency, radar second opinions, and explanation faithfulness) outperformed the model's own calibrated confidence at detecting errors. Reporting that negative result mattered to us as much as reporting the positive ones. From Seed to Harvest — A Rewarding Experience Every harvest tells a story🌱. I had the opportunity to harvest Palak (Spinach) and Senkeerai (Amaranthus) from our hydroponic cultivation system. Behind these fresh greens are countless hours of observation, nutrient management, plant monitoring, problem-solving, and continuous learning. Le GIE ASISPEV des femmes de Diourbel poursuit sa deuxième campagne agricole sous serre avec une production de poivrons verts. Malgré les conditions plus exigeantes de l’hivernage, les femmes ont réalisé aujourd’hui une récolte de 274 kg, fruit de leur engagement et de la maîtrise progressive des techniques de production sous serre. Cette nouvelle récolte illustre la capacité de l’agriculture sous serre à soutenir une production horticole plus résiliente face aux aléas climatiques.
