🌱 Hands-on Learning: Installation & Maintenance of Fogger Irrigation System Today’s practical session in the polyhouse gave us an opportunity to work with a fogger irrigation system and understand its installation and maintenance. We learned how to properly position and connect the fogger lines, check the fittings, and ensure that the system is functioning efficiently. Regular maintenance and proper installation are essential for uniform water distribution and efficient irrigation in protected cultivation. The Cold Storage project at TechSphere was one of those experiences that reminded me why I love building things. It was late nights trying to make every connection work, calibrating sensors, fixing power issues, optimizing the code to run properly on the ESP32, and redesigning the web control page from a farmer’s perspective. And yes… there were failures too A short circuit literally melted wires and cost me 1 ESP32, 1 MQ-135, and 2 DHT sensors There were loose connections, power supply issues, repeated breadboard checks, debugging, and running to the AI Research Centre - Woxsen University for help. Managing the power supply was probably the biggest headache of the entire project But somehow, throughout all of this, I never really felt tired. I was too focused on making the system work. A special thanks to Vishal Kumar Sharma and Shoaib S Sir for helping me get the required sensors and, more importantly, for always being ready to support students even at the last moment One thing I know for sure after this project: I’m done trusting jumper wires & bread board I didn’t win the competition, but honestly, I walked away with something much more valuable--the experience of building, breaking, debugging, rebuilding, and learning under pressure And a huge thank you to Monish Rithvik for pushing me to participate in TechSphere and helping me make the most out of the experience Sometimes the best outcome of a competition isn't the prize. Some announcements create headlines. Some create new possibilities. The Cabinet approval of GOBARdhan, India’s National Unified Scheme for Compressed Biogas (CBG), with a total outlay of ₹23,731 crore, is one such defining moment for India’s clean-energy journey. I see this not merely as a policy announcement, but as a strong signal of where India’s energy economy is headed. For years, we have spoken about converting waste into wealth. Today, that vision is moving closer to becoming a large-scale economic reality. Agricultural residue. Cattle dung. Organic waste. Biomass. These are no longer just waste streams. They can become clean fuel, organic manure, rural income and a stronger domestic energy ecosystem. The real opportunity now lies in execution. With policy support around demand, pricing, capital assistance, infrastructure and financing, the CBG sector has the potential to move from individual projects to a much larger, integrated ecosystem. And this is where I believe engineering and project execution will make the difference. At KEC Agritech, our focus has always been to build projects that are technically sound, commercially viable and designed for long-term operations, not simply to build plants, but to build the infrastructure that can support India’s bio-energy ambition. Government builds the policy. Industry must build the projects. And together, we build the ecosystem. The next phase of CBG will demand serious engineering, reliable technology, efficient feedstock management, strong project execution and long-term thinking. Rice feeds India. Rice is also quietly cooking the planet. Flooded paddy fields release methane. A lot of it. The world talks about factories and flights and forgets the sheet of water sitting in a field in Bihar. On the 7th of August, Mitti Labs raised 9.5 million dollars from Aramco Ventures to fix exactly that. Their work: help farmers grow rice with less standing water, measure the methane that is never released, and turn that into carbon credits that actually hold up. Notice who wrote the cheque. An oil company's venture arm, backing an Indian startup that makes rice cleaner. The world is hunting for real climate wins, and one of them is sitting in an Indian paddy field. I like this because it does not ask the farmer to become a hero. It asks him to flood a little less, and pays him for it. Dignity and incentive in the same move. No rocket. No app you have heard of. Just a stubborn idea that the most Indian thing of all, growing rice, could also be one of the biggest levers we have on emissions. The next climate breakthrough might not look like a battery. Mais si je n'arrive pas à réunir immédiatement les moyens nécessaires pour cela, je commencerai sur 1 hectare. Je préfère commencer petit que ne jamais commencer. 20 hectares ou 1 hectare : l'essentiel est de commencer. Et c'est précisément pour cela que je fais appel à vous. Il y a un moment où il faut arrêter de préparer un projet et se lancer. Cela fait longtemps que je travaille sur la Ferme de l’Aussau : réfléchir au modèle, étudier les cultures, la pisciculture, l’aquaponie, l’adaptation au changement climatique, chercher des solutions pour limiter les intrants et créer une ferme capable de produire autrement. Mais aujourd’hui, je suis arrivé à cette étape particulière où le projet est prêt à commencer, mais où les moyens financiers ne suivent pas encore. Une reconversion professionnelle ne donne pas toujours les moyens de devenir chef d’entreprise. Changer de voie, repartir sur un nouveau métier, créer son activité agricole et investir dans les premières infrastructures demande un capital de départ important. Et lorsqu'on n'a pas derrière soi un patrimoine ou des investisseurs, cette première marche peut être particulièrement difficile à franchir. https://lnkd.in/eqHTSif2 Ces 60 000 € ne serviront pas à financer un projet lointain ou une ferme idéale qui existerait un jour. Ils serviront à commencer concrètement : 🐟 un premier module de pisciculture et d'aquaponie 🌱 des serres pour produire dès les premières saisons 🍓 les premières cultures de fraises hors-sol 🫐 les premiers myrtilliers 🌸 une première parcelle de safran 🌳 les premiers pistachiers et yuzus 💧 les équipements nécessaires pour économiser l'eau et maîtriser les cycles de production. Chaque investissement doit permettre de produire, expérimenter, apprendre et progressivement développer la ferme. Je ne vous demande pas de financer toute l'aventure. Je vous demande de m'aider à franchir la première marche. Parce qu'une entreprise ne peut pas rester éternellement au stade du projet. À un moment, il faut commencer. Si vous croyez à l'idée d'une agriculture plus résiliente, plus économe en ressources et capable d'expérimenter de nouvelles façons de produire, alors vous pouvez contribuer à lui donner une chance d'exister. Même une petite contribution compte. Un partage compte. Faire connaître la campagne compte. Les 60 000 € représentent pour moi bien plus qu'un objectif financier : ils représentent la possibilité de transformer plusieurs années de travail et de réflexion en une ferme qui existe réellement.
