Syngenta India is proud to announce the inauguration of the Agriculture Technology Information and Farmers Resource Centre at ICAR-Central Soil Salinity Research Institute (CSSRI) in Karnal, Haryana, on March 1, 2026.
This pioneering initiative, in collaboration with the Government of Haryana and CSSRI, establishes a dedicated single-window platform to deliver authentic agricultural information, modern farming practices, and access to government schemes. The Centre focuses on critical areas including soil health management, salinity mitigation, water-efficient techniques, pest resistance strategies, climate-smart agriculture, digital tools, and safe crop protection practices.
A key emphasis is on empowering rural youth through skill-building programs, notably in drone technology for precision agriculture, including piloting and spraying training. These efforts aim to enhance employability, foster entrepreneurship in agri-allied sectors, and address rural-to-urban migration challenges.
Building on the Memorandum of Understanding signed with CSSRI in October 2024, this Centre strengthens joint research, knowledge exchange, field demonstrations, and farmer capacity-building to promote sustainable crop productivity and resilience in saline and waterlogged areas.
The initiative aligns with Syngenta India's ongoing commitments, including soil health programs, water and residue management projects, farmer safety campaigns, and the flagship I RISE (Inculcating Rural India Skill Enhancement) programme, which has trained thousands of rural youth for employment or entrepreneurial ventures.
