Nvidia just bought Hugging Face for $12.9 billion. Here's why smallholder farmers should care. The AI quietly transforming African agriculture, crop disease detection from a phone photo, yield prediction from satellite imagery, credit scoring for farmers with no bank statements, mostly runs on open-source models. Models a small team can download, fine-tune on local crops and local data, and deploy without a Silicon Valley budget. Hugging Face was the front door to all of that. Now the world's biggest chipmaker owns it. Maybe nothing changes. Nvidia profits when more people build. But agriculture in emerging markets has learned this lesson before with seeds and fertilizer: when the inputs get consolidated, the smallest players pay the price. For those of us building AI for smallholder finance, the takeaway is clear: Fine-tune and own your models. A crop-yield model trained on Ethiopian teff or Kenyan maize is an asset no acquisition can take from you. The real moat was never the base model, it's the local data and the trust of the farmers behind it. The next decade of agricultural AI in Africa shouldn't depend on decisions made in a boardroom in Santa Clara. #AgriTech #AI #FinancialInclusion #Smallholders #Africa #AgriFinance

Vasyl Korchynskyi, CTO of b2beings, attended AgroIT Forum 2026 in Kyiv – a specialized forum dedicated to digital technologies and IT solutions in the agricultural sector. The event brought together agricultural producers, agroholdings, AgTech companies, and industry experts to discuss practical cases of digitalization. Discussions around data management and the real efficiency of digital solutions in agribusiness were of particular interest – from the role of AI and Big Data in farm management to the challenges of integrating different IT systems into a unified ecosystem. Modern agribusiness operates in conditions of high competition and uncertainty, which makes digital tools not just an innovation, but a necessary condition for efficiency. We thank the organizers for a strong program and the opportunity to discuss the future of AgriTech together with industry leaders 🤝

Today’s visit to the ICAR–Indian Institute of Horticultural Research reinforced an important reality of modern agriculture, solving export challenges requires deep collaboration between science, field experience, and technology. Had the opportunity to spend time with lead scientists and the IIHR team discussing practical agronomic challenges around pesticide residue compliance in horticulture. For us at Agrythm Technologies Pvt. Ltd., this is a core commitment. India’s exporters carry significant risk when shipments face rejection due to residue violations. The only sustainable solution is science-backed farm-level decision making, built on crop phenology, pest–disease dynamics, and responsible input use. Our focus is simple: Helping farmers grow residue-compliant produce, so exporters can ship with confidence. Grateful to institutions like IIHR that continue to push the scientific boundaries of horticulture in India. Looking forward to translating more of this research insight into real farm impact. If you are an exporter or supply-chain stakeholder working on residue-compliant produce, I would be keen to hear your perspective. #ResidueFreeFarming #HorticultureScience #AgriTech #ExportAgriculture

But operating them safely and effectively requires more than just piloting skills. Here’s why dual certification covering drone operations, agronomy, and pesticide handling is essential: 1️⃣𝐒𝐚𝐟𝐞𝐭𝐲 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭: Pesticides are hazardous. Understanding safe handling, storage, and application ensures the well-being of workers, consumers, and the environment. 2️⃣ 𝐌𝐚𝐱𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐳𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐄𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲: Knowledge of agronomy helps drone operators make data-driven decisions about crop health, irrigation, and fertilizer application. 3️⃣ 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞: Many countries require certifications for drone flight, chemical spraying, and environmental safety. Dual certification keeps your operation compliant. 4️⃣ 𝐁𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐫 𝐎𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬: Professionals certified in both drone technology and agronomy are highly sought after in the agri-tech sector, offering expertise in both flying drones and interpreting agricultural data. 5️⃣ 𝐒𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐅𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠: Combining tech skills with agricultural knowledge enables precision agriculture, reducing waste, improving yields, and minimizing environmental impact. 🌱 Bottom line: One certification teaches you to fly a drone. Dual certification teaches you to fly, analyze, and act responsibly turning technology into real-world agricultural solutions. Are you ready to elevate your career in agri-tech with dual certification? 💡 🚁🌐𝖳𝖾𝖼𝗁𝗇𝗈𝗅𝗈𝗀𝗒 𝗂𝗌 𝖺𝗏𝖺𝗂𝗅𝖺𝖻𝗅𝖾, 𝖻𝗎𝗍 𝗂𝗍𝗌 𝗂𝗆𝗉𝖺𝖼𝗍 𝖽𝖾𝗉𝖾𝗇𝖽𝗌 𝗈𝗇 𝗁𝗈𝗐 𝗐𝖾 𝗎𝗌𝖾 𝗂𝗍. #PrecisionAgriculture #DroneTechnology #Agronomy #AgriTech #SustainableFarming #ProfessionalDevelopment #AgriculturalDrones
