On enchaîne.

Me and my friends recently worked on a project called Smart Farm Assistant — a web-based smart farming platform designed to make farm monitoring and management easier using IoT, AI, and automation. We wanted to build something that goes beyond just displaying sensor values, so we created a platform where a farmer can actually monitor the farm, understand what's happening, and take action from one place. Here’s what we built 👇 🌦️ Farm Dashboard 1)Weather and overall farm health 2) Temperature, humidity, soil moisture & light intensity monitoring 🌾 Zone Monitoring 1) Separate monitoring for different farm zones 2) Safe, Warning & Critical status indicators 3) Real-time pump/relay status 💧 Smart Irrigation 1) Soil moisture monitoring 2) Pump ON/OFF control 3) Irrigation scheduling for morning and evening 🤖 AI Farm Assistant 1) Ask farming-related questions 2) Get recommendations based on farm conditions 3) Zone health and watering suggestions 4) Multilingual support 🍃 Crop Doctor Upload a picture of a plant/leaf 1)Detect possible crop diseases using AI/ML 2)Get recommended treatment steps 🔐 Farmer Authentication 1)Registration & Login 2) Farmer profile and farm details Working on this project with my friends was a great learning experience. From designing the interface to connecting different features and thinking about how technology could actually be useful for farmers, we learned a lot throughout the process. This project gave us hands-on experience with AI/ML, IoT concepts, web development, automation, data monitoring, and building a real-world problem-solving application. There’s still a lot we want to improve and add, but this is a start! 🚀🌱 Built with curiosity, teamwork, and a lot of debugging. 😅 #SmartFarmAssistant #SmartFarming #AgriTech #IoT #AI #MachineLearning #WebDevelopment #SmartIrrigation #TeamProject #BTechProject #AgricultureTechnology #Innovation

🌱 Smart & Sustainable Pakistan: Leveraging IoT & AgriTech for ESG Impact Proud that Sustainadility served as the Sustainability Partner CxO Global Forum #elevate2026 for a rich panel discussion exploring how Pakistan can turn IoT, AgriTech, and AI into real ESG outcomes. Representing Sustainadility, Sajjeed Aslam shared his perspective on why sustainability needs to be treated as a business and economic imperative, not a compliance checkbox. His key message: the technologies already exist, precision agriculture, smart irrigation, drone-based crop monitoring, satellite imaging, what Pakistan needs now is an operating model, driving corporate farming backed by the policy interventions. The investment appetite to scale already exist, a data backed, bankable projects are still missing in the ecosystem to drive the available investment into transactions. A few themes that stood out from the conversation: 🔹 Agriculture is Pakistan's largest economic sector, and largest carbon emitter, and the biggest ESG opportunity. AI-driven crop analytics and smart farm management platforms can lift yields while cutting resource waste. 🔹 IoT is the quiet enabler. Connected sensors for water, energy, and environmental monitoring are some of the most practical, deployable solutions available today. 🔹 ESG is a competitive advantage, not a cost centre. Companies that measure and report performance well are the ones attracting serious investment, including from climate funds and development finance institutions. 🔹 Climate resilience needs digital + green infrastructure together, from smart grids to flood management systems to carbon-smart agriculture. 🔹 Collaboration is the real unlock. Government, industry, academia, startups, and farmers all have to move in the same direction for any of this to scale nationally. The panel closed with a challenge to every speaker: name one national initiative that could make Pakistan smarter and more sustainable, starting tomorrow. The common thread across every answer? None of it works without stronger operating model, policy, patient investment, and genuine cross-sector collaboration. #ESG #Sustainability #AgriTech #IoT #ClimateAction #Pakistan #SmartAgriculture #GreenInfrastructure #Innovation #Investment

#ArtificialIntelligence #AgriTech #AION #GreenSpire #DeepTech #Agriculture #Innovation #IndustrialAI #FoodResilience #WaterEfficiency #Automation

Her Earthworm Venture Now Turns Over ₹1 Crore Meet Sana Khan from Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, who turned a fascination with earthworms into S J Organics, a vermicomposting venture built almost by accident. Sana wanted to be a doctor. Her father, a tailor, and her brother, who worked in a factory, hoped for the same thing. She missed the medical entrance cutoff and enrolled in a BTech in Biotechnology at IMS Engineering College, Ghaziabad, instead. In her final year, she was assigned a project on waste management, which introduced her to vermicomposting, using earthworms to turn organic waste into fertilizer. She'd had zero prior interest in agriculture. The project changed that entirely. In 2014, at 23, she founded S J Organics with financial backing from her brother, Junaid. Her first business model failed outright. Rather than walk away, she rebuilt it, bringing in contractors to source dairy and household biodegradable waste, then feeding it to red earthworms, a variety originally from Australia known for efficiently converting cow dung into nutrient-rich compost. The process takes about six weeks, with the finished compost enriched using cow urine as a natural pesticide. By 2015, the business was properly profitable. Today, S J Organics employs more than 30 people, runs consultancy programs that have set up vermicomposting sites in 104 schools across Meerut, and turns over roughly ₹1 crore a year. She's since bought a full acre of land outside Meerut to expand production and launch new products like vermi wash. Her message to other women: agriculture isn't a field to shy away from. It's one with real room to build something. #SanaKhan #SJOrganics #StartupUnboxing #WomenEntrepreneurs #AgriTech #Vermicomposting #IndianStartups #FounderStory #SustainableBusiness #MeerutBusiness

Waste is free, but cleaning, aggregating, and moving it is expensive. The primary bottleneck holding back commercial agricultural plastic recycling isn't the melting or extruding technology it is the physics of bulk logistics and contamination. Used PE hoses and drip tapes have incredibly low bulk density when piled up, and they are heavily contaminated with soil, water, and agrochemicals. When an aggregator hauls loose, untreated irrigation tape over poor rural roads, they are effectively paying to transport dirt and air. Transport costs quickly outpace the market value of the recycled plastic resin. A secondary challenge is the mismatch between seasonal supply and continuous capital asset utilization. High-CAPEX plastic recycling plants (equipped with industrial shredders, friction washers, and pelletizers) require a constant, uniform 365-day feedstock intake to service their debt and operational costs. However, agricultural plastics are retired in massive seasonal surges, typically at the end of a harvest or when irrigation cycles conclude. Without low-cost compaction and storage infrastructure at the farm gate, central recycling plants face severe feedstock deficits during off-seasons. Furthermore, market pricing dynamics often surprise early-stage circular ventures. Virgin polyethylene and urban recycled plastics already enjoy deeply established distribution networks and price points. The moment a formal agri-plastic recycling enterprise sets up shop and starts sourcing used drip tapes, informal markets and farmers notice. Plastic waste that was previously burned in fields or buried suddenly acquires a price tag, squeezing the recycler's operating margins from both ends. Unlocking this ecosystem requires decentralized first-mile processing. Rather than moving sprawling, dirt-filled plastic waste to central factories, value chains need low-cost hub systems right at farming clusters, simple mechanical shredders, rudimentary wash basins to strip away heavy soil, and field-level balers. Densifying and pre-cleaning the plastic makes logistics economically viable before long-haul transport. Only by fixing this first mile can we successfully slow and narrow the resource loop, ensuring these polymers actually make it back into the manufacturing cycle. #CircularEconomy #IrrigationTechnology #SustainableAgriculture #AgriTech
