Cette transformation vise à remplacer les énergies fossiles, notamment le charbon, par des combustibles renouvelables comme la biomasse, afin de réduire les émissions de gaz à effet de serre. La conversion des installations constitue ainsi une étape importante pour accompagner la Guadeloupe dans son objectif de développement d’une production d’électricité plus durable, tout en contribuant à renforcer l’autonomie énergétique du territoire. En 2026, cette centrale a achevé sa conversion au 100 % biomasse, mettant fin à l’utilisation du charbon. 🏭 Implantée en Guadeloupe depuis 1998, Albioma exploite notamment la centrale thermique du Moule, d’une puissance installée de 102 MW, qui représente environ 30 % de la production d’électricité de l’île. Elle utilise principalement de la bagasse issue de la canne à sucre, ainsi que d’autres ressources locales comme le bois forestier et le bois d’élagage, complétées par des granulés de bois certifiés. #Biomasse #Economiecirculaire #Guadeloupe #Energie #Transition #Ecologie

There is a question I have been thinking about a lot lately: How do we move Africa from being primarily a consumer of technology to becoming a creator, assembler and owner of it? Tanzania has enormous potential in agriculture, logistics, mining and tourism yet most of the technology needed to transform these sectors is still developed elsewhere and imported as a finished product. At Lumor Technologies, I have been working through what that actually looks like in practice. Recently, I put together a proposal for agricultural drone services — pesticide application, crop monitoring, precision mapping for a government agency here in Tanzania. What struck me wasn't the technology itself. It was everything underneath it: training, maintenance, spare parts, local technical capacity. A drone delivered without that infrastructure is just an imported product with extra steps. That's the bigger opportunity I keep coming back to. Not distribution partnerships, but ones built around technology transfer, local assembly, technical training and eventually manufacturing. What technologies can we bring to Tanzania, localize, and build long-term businesses around? I'm increasingly interested in connecting with entrepreneurs, manufacturers and investors who see Africa's opportunity the same way not just as a market for technology, but as a future owner of it. #Africa #Agritech #DroneTechnology #Tanzania

Ideathon 2026 | Farmova 🚜🌱 Today, I had the opportunity to participate in Ideathon, organized in Sri Krishna College of Engineering and Technology by CSE department, and present our idea Farmova. 🌾 Farmova — From Idle Machines to Active Farms Farmers often face difficulties accessing agricultural machinery when they need it, while many machine owners have equipment sitting unused for long periods. Farmova aims to bridge this gap by creating a platform where: 🚜 Farmers can discover and rent agricultural machinery 📍 Find nearby available machines 📅 Book machines based on their requirements 💳 Make secure payments 📲 Receive booking notifications and updates ⭐ Build trust through ratings and reviews Our goal is simple: make agricultural machinery more accessible to farmers while helping machine owners make better use of their equipment. From Prototype to Market Validation: A Step Closer to Reducing Post-Harvest Losses 🍅🌱 Yesterday marked another important milestone in our journey at Fresh Harvest Innovations – Team GreenCycle. We had the privilege of hosting the **Coalition for Positive Impact (CPI)** team, through the **Igniting Dreams Fellowship**, for an assessment of our work and the progress we have made in developing our innovative produce preservation boxes. Our solution is designed to help **tomato and vegetable sellers preserve their produce for longer periods, reduce post-harvest losses, and protect the livelihoods of farmers and traders.** What made the visit particularly exciting was the opportunity to demonstrate our solution in a real-world setting and receive valuable feedback from the CPI team. The assessment provided encouraging validation of our product's potential, particularly its relevance to the needs of market sellers. Even more exciting was the interest expressed in adopting and purchasing the boxes as we progress toward production and market entry. For our team, this is more than just a successful assessment. **It is a strong indication that we are solving a real problem with a solution that people are willing to pay for.** From identifying the problem, developing the concept, building the prototype, testing it, and now receiving market validation — every step has brought us closer to our vision. There is still much work ahead: improving the design, strengthening our production process, conducting further user testing, and ultimately making these preservation boxes accessible to the people who need them most. But yesterday gave us another reason to believe that **the future of Fresh Harvest Innovations is promising.** 🚀 A sincere thank you to the **Coalition for Positive Impact (CPI)** and the **Igniting Dreams Fellowship** for the assessment, constructive feedback, support, and belief in our vision.
