One plan before you plant a single seed In my last post I talked about the problem: Farmers often decide crops with incomplete information. So what is FarmSense AI? It is a simple idea with a serious goal. Help a farmer see a plan before planting: What crop fits the soil When to sow When selling may make more sense And one more thing many tools miss: Is everyone nearby planting the same crop? Because if a whole district grows the same thing, prices can crash at harvest time. FarmSense AI brings a few signals into one place: soil suitability weather fit price outlook demand / local oversupply awareness I am building it as my final-year Computing project at Northumbria University. Stack in plain words: a web app farmers can open on a phone an API that runs the logic a database that stores farms and plans machine learning models behind the ranking It is still a student project. It is not magic. It will not replace a farmer’s judgment. But it tries to replace guesswork with a clearer first answer. #Agritech #AI #StudentProject #ProductThinking #Northumbria

What Can “Mambo No. 5” Teach Us About Agriculture? 🎶🌱 One, two, three, four, five… 🎺 If you grew up in the 90s or early 2000s, chances are you remember Lou Bega’s “Mambo No. 5 (A Little Bit of…)”. But here is the fascinating part: the song wasn't completely new. The original “Mambo No. 5” was composed by Cuban musician Dámaso Pérez Prado in 1949. Decades later, Lou Bega took that foundation, added a completely new generation of sound and lyrics, and turned it into a worldwide hit. That is a powerful lesson in innovation. Sometimes you don't have to reinvent everything. You have to take something that already works and make it work better for the next generation. That is part of what we are building at Global Agricultural Solutions. Africa already has farmers. Africa already has agricultural knowledge. Africa already has machinery and technologies. The challenge is connecting farmers to the right machinery, technology and solutions in a way that is affordable, accessible and practical. At Global Agricultural Solutions, we are working to make agrimachinery available to farmers—from walking tractors and planters to processing equipment, irrigation solutions and other technologies designed to improve agricultural productivity and reduce post-harvest losses. Just like Mambo No. 5 brought an old musical foundation to a new generation, we want to help bring agricultural technology closer to a new generation of African farmers. Old wisdom + new technology + accessibility = transformation. And maybe that's the real “Mambo No. 5” lesson: Don't just preserve what works. Make it move. Make it accessible. Make it reach more people. 🌍🚜 🎥 Follow Global Agricultural Solutions on YouTube: https://lnkd.in/dvxCSu_5 #GlobalAgriculturalSolutions #Agriculture #Agritech #FarmMechanization #AfricanAgriculture #Innovation #Farmers #Agrimachinery #FoodSecurity #MamboNo5 YCombinator Coach Sequoia Capital Benchmark Khosla Ventures Greylock Partners Lightspeed Kelvin Ndungu

#Agritech #ComputerVision #EdgeAI #EmbeddedAI #Viticoltura #Merlot #GoPro #BassanoDelGrappa

What if India agricultural waste can become the packaging of tomorrow? We always talk about plastic pollution as a big environment problem. But I wanted to look at it from a different angle. Can entrepreneurship actually turn waste into a big opportunity? While doing some research on sustainable packaging in India I found some amazing examples of deep tech startups. 🌿 Bambrew is making sustainable packaging using bamboo, wood pulp and agro waste. 🍄 Dharaksha Ecosolutions is taking even more interesting approach. They use agriculture waste and mycelium based biology to make alternative of normal thermocol packaging. What makes this interesting is not just the technology. It is the core idea. A problem that looks like waste to one industry is becoming raw material for another! India generate so much biomass waste and companies are searching for alternative to plastic. The real opportunity is sitting right in between. But can these material actually scale? Can business adopt them even if initial cost is high? I wrote about all this in my latest article "Beyond Plastic: How Indian Startups are Using Agro Waste to Change Packaging" as a part of the E-Cell, IIT Bombay article challenge. Do you think bio packaging can realistically replace plastic and thermocol completely? Let me know your perspective in comments! 👇 #NEC2026 #IITBombay #Entrepreneurship #Startups #Sustainability #Innovation #IndianStartups #AgriTech #ClimateTech #CircularEconomy #Packaging

🌱 North Node’s First Research Project: Building a Resilient Food–Feed Ecosystem What if the future of food security isn’t about producing more—but using what we already produce much better? I’m excited to position this as the first research project of North Node: Food ➡️Feed ➡️Pet Nutrition ➡️Circularity ➡️Resilience Today, human food production, livestock feed, pet nutrition and food-waste management largely operate as separate systems. I believe there is an opportunity to connect them intelligently—without compromising quality, safety or nutritional standards. The research will explore a model where safe agricultural and food-processing co-products can be: Human food → highest-value use ⬇️ Safe by-products → feed ingredients ⬇️ Species-specific processing → livestock / poultry / aquaculture / pet nutrition ⬇️ Organic residues → compost / bioenergy ⬇️ Back to agriculture ⬇️ The bigger opportunity is resilience. During floods, droughts, crop failures, pandemics or supply-chain disruptions, the same infrastructure could potentially function as an emergency food and animal-feed network—helping reduce dependency on long supply chains while minimizing material wastage.🌱 The research questions are simple, but important: 🌱• Can shared processing infrastructure reduce production costs? 🌱Can food-processing by-products be safely converted into high-value feed ingredients? 🌱Can we reduce transportation, storage and disposal costs? 🌱Can a digital platform match available biological resources with their safest, highest-value destination? 🌱Can the model become an emergency-response network for both human and animal nutrition? This is not a proposal to turn “waste” into food or feed without controls. Safety, traceability, contamination testing, nutritional analysis and species-specific standards would be fundamental to the model. 🪼Now I’m looking for collaborators. I would love to connect with: Food scientists | Veterinarians | Animal nutritionists | Agronomists | Food-processing companies | Feed manufacturers | Pet-food companies | Researchers | Supply-chain experts | Sustainability professionals | Agri-tech founders | Investors# If you are working at the intersection of food, agriculture, animal health, nutrition, circular economy or climate resilience, I would genuinely like to hear your perspective. North Node is starting with a research question—not a finished answer. If we can bring the right minds together, perhaps we can build a system where less is wasted, production becomes more efficient, and food security becomes more resilient. Interested in collaborating, researching or investing in this direction? Let’s connect. #NorthNode #FoodSecurity #AnimalNutrition #PetNutrition #CircularEconomy #AgriTech #FoodTech #Sustainability #ClimateResilience #VeterinaryInnovation #ResearchAndDevelopment #FutureOfFood #Innovation

"The future of agriculture belongs to businesses solving problems across the value chain." — Gbenga Aladejebi While cultivation is the starting point, the most significant growth opportunities in agriculture lie beyond the farm. The industry requires practical solutions to post-harvest challenges—whether that means improving cold-chain storage infrastructure, streamlining transport logistics, or optimizing the processing of raw materials. To scale agribusiness in Africa, we must bridge these missing links. The most successful founders are not just growing crops; they are building systems that solve specific supply chain bottlenecks. Listen to this excerpt to hear Gbenga explain where these untapped opportunities are hiding. listen to the full episode via https://lnkd.in/eXuYEmYT? #AgritechFoundersDiary #AgriculturalValueChains #Agribusiness #SupplyChainSolutions #FutureOfAgriculture #AfriRica #Agripreneur

#Agronomie #Framboise #FruitsRouges #Berries #Hydroponie #AgricultureHorsSol #ConseilAgricole #Berkane #AgTech
