🌱 Technical Farming: From Traditional Practices to Data-Driven Agriculture Agriculture is changing. Today, successful farming is not only about experience and hard work—it is also about using the right technical knowledge at the right time. 🌾 What Is Technical Farming? Technical farming means using scientific knowledge, modern technologies and data-based practices to make better decisions throughout the crop production cycle. Instead of simply following a fixed routine, technical farming focuses on: 🔬 Soil Analysis Understanding soil pH, EC, organic carbon and nutrient status before planning nutrient management. 💧 Water Management Assessing irrigation requirements and using efficient systems such as drip irrigation where suitable. 🧪 Nutrient Management Applying fertilizers according to crop requirements, soil conditions and growth stages. 🌱 Crop Monitoring Regularly observing crop growth, nutrient status, pest pressure and field conditions. 🐛 Scientific Pest Management Identifying pests correctly and using integrated approaches instead of unnecessary pesticide application. 📊 Data-Based Decision Making Using soil, water, weather and crop information to improve farm management decisions. 🚜 Why Does Technical Farming Matter? Every field is different. Soil type, climate, water availability, crop variety and nutrient requirements can vary from one farm to another. Therefore, a one-size-fits-all approach may not always be appropriate. A technical approach follows: Observe → Test → Analyze → Plan → Implement → Monitor → Improve The objective is not simply to increase agricultural inputs. It is to improve input-use efficiency, crop management, resource utilization and long-term farm sustainability. 🌾 The future of agriculture is not just about farming harder. It is about farming smarter—with science, technology and better information. Technical Knowledge + Data + Technology + Field Management = Smarter Agriculture 🌱 #TechnicalFarming #agribist #agribistindia #SmartFarming #PrecisionAgriculture #ModernAgriculture #AgriTech #AgricultureTechnology #CropManagement #SoilHealth #WaterManagement #NutrientManagement #FarmManagement #SustainableAgriculture #IndianAgriculture #AgriculturalScience #PrecisionFarming #SmartAgriculture

#IntegratedPestManagement #IPM #TutaAbsoluta #BiologicalControl #Tomato #Greenhouse #PestManagement #Biocontrol #Agriculture #PracticalIPMHub

Meet Abhilash Das - Bringing Real-Time Data to India’s Smallholder Farmers What if farmers could see what is happening in their fields before a crop problem becomes a loss? That is the problem Abhilash Das is working on through Vriddhi 2.0 Digital Farms, based in Guwahati, Assam. Indian smallholder farmers often lack the real-time field data needed to reduce input costs, prevent crop loss, and access formal financial systems. Vriddhi 2.0 brings satellites, drones, AI, and blockchain together to detect crop anomalies early, enable spot-spraying, and create verifiable data for insurance and carbon credits. The goal is bigger than technology. It is about replacing uncertainty with data, and turning sustainable farming into something that can create measurable economic value for farmers. The venture is still pre-revenue, but early validation is promising. 20+ farmers in Assam have tested the solution, with 8 reporting positive ROI. Five pilot farms in Golaghat are actively using the system and reporting reduced pesticide usage. The team has also onboarded 5 local shops for its marketplace. And they are doing this bootstrapped, with just ₹50,000 invested so far. Abhilash has also received institutional validation through multiple startup competitions and was selected for Google AI for Startups at IIM Calcutta. The next step is a 50-farmer commercial pilot across Golaghat and Jorhat. The challenge now is turning a working prototype into a reliable, scalable field solution - while building farmer trust, navigating regulatory requirements, strengthening the team, and developing the right FPO-led go-to-market model. Abhilash is seeking a ₹50 lakh pre-seed grant to deploy the pilot, work on patent filings, and validate ROI at scale. He is also looking for FPO and agri-input partnerships, mentorship on GTM and regulatory approvals, and technology collaborations around Edge AI and drone systems. At Udyam Tatva, we believe potential deserves momentum. Our mission is to connect people and businesses with the knowledge, capital, talent, and opportunities they need to move forward. Abhilash’s journey is a reminder that the future of agriculture may not only depend on better inputs - but on better information about what is happening on the ground. Meet Abhilash Das. Building Vriddhi 2.0. Turning farm data into better decisions and greater opportunity.
