🌱 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸𝘀 𝟲 & 𝟳 — 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 The final two weeks of the SDA AI Data Center Bootcamp were where everything came together. For our graduation project, 𝗖𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗱 🌱, we built an AI system designed to analyze agricultural images and identify crops and their associated diseases or pests. During these final weeks, we: 🔹 Benchmarked Qwen2.5-VL-7B-Instruct against a commercial multimodal reference 🔹 Applied 𝗤𝗟𝗼𝗥𝗔 fine-tuning to adapt the model to agricultural data 🔹 Served the model using 𝘃𝗟𝗟𝗠 and 𝗞𝘂𝗯𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘁𝗲𝘀 🔹 Tested accuracy, latency, throughput, and reliability 🔹 Analyzed how fine-tuning changed individual predictions The results showed the impact of domain adaptation. Our fine-tuned model reached 𝟱𝟲.𝟬𝟯% combined diagnosis accuracy, 𝟵𝟰.𝟴𝟯% crop accuracy, and a 𝟭𝟬𝟬% valid-output rate on the held-out evaluation. But the biggest lessons went beyond the numbers. 🌱 𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗮 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗴𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘀𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗲. Some predictions improved while others regressed, reminding us to look beyond a single metric. ⚙️ 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗹 𝗶𝘀 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺.
