Excited to Share Our Recent Conference Papers from Dr. Athyna Cambouris’s Lab!! Our peer-reviewed conference papers published by Wageningen Academic Press (Brill) is now available online. These studies highlight innovative data-driven approaches in precision agriculture, integrating AI, remote sensing, and soil analytics for sustainable crop management. 1): AI-Enhanced Potato Yield Assessment Using Sentinel-2 Imaging Key Insight: This study applied AI and Sentinel-2 multispectral imagery to assess pre-harvest potato yields across four commercial fields in Prince Edward Island, Canada. Among three tested machine learning models, Random Forest achieved the best performance (RRMSE = 13.8%, RMAE = 11.3%). Results confirm the potential of integrating AI and satellite data for accurate yield assessment in digital agriculture. Link to paper: https://lnkd.in/eUeV-udv 2): In situ VIS-NIRS Probe Measurements for pH Management Key Insight: This research compared VIS-NIRS soil probe readings with traditional laboratory pH analyses in maize and potato fields across Quebec and New Brunswick, Canada. Significant differences between the two approaches affected lime recommendations, underscoring the need for site-specific calibration to enhance the reliability of on-farm VIS-NIRS applications.
