Honoured to see this published by ET Edge Insights today. I wrote it because I've spent years watching a gap that no one seems in a hurry to close. We built world-class software for clients abroad. We built brilliant apps for the metro-dwelling, English-comfortable top 50 million. And the 600 million Indians who grow our food received technology last if at all. When it finally arrived, it came with a condition: adapt yourself to the machine. I don't believe that's a development problem. I believe it's the largest commercial opportunity in this country, and we've mispriced it badly. The article makes the case for five design principles I've come to hold firmly: → Voice before text. Vision before menus. → Edge before cloud. → Indigenous before imported. → Women at the centre, not the margins. → Ownership before extraction. None of this is charity. Rural networks built this way compound data, trust and distribution all get cheaper with scale, not more expensive. That's a moat urban-first companies don't get to build. India will not out-Silicon-Valley Silicon Valley. Our lasting contribution will be the playbook for taking frontier technology to hundreds of millions who were never anyone's target market a playbook every emerging economy needs.
