Cette transformation vise à remplacer les énergies fossiles, notamment le charbon, par des combustibles renouvelables comme la biomasse, afin de réduire les émissions de gaz à effet de serre. La conversion des installations constitue ainsi une étape importante pour accompagner la Guadeloupe dans son objectif de développement d’une production d’électricité plus durable, tout en contribuant à renforcer l’autonomie énergétique du territoire. En 2026, cette centrale a achevé sa conversion au 100 % biomasse, mettant fin à l’utilisation du charbon. 🏭 Implantée en Guadeloupe depuis 1998, Albioma exploite notamment la centrale thermique du Moule, d’une puissance installée de 102 MW, qui représente environ 30 % de la production d’électricité de l’île. Elle utilise principalement de la bagasse issue de la canne à sucre, ainsi que d’autres ressources locales comme le bois forestier et le bois d’élagage, complétées par des granulés de bois certifiés. #Biomasse #Economiecirculaire #Guadeloupe #Energie #Transition #Ecologie

There is a question I have been thinking about a lot lately: How do we move Africa from being primarily a consumer of technology to becoming a creator, assembler and owner of it? Tanzania has enormous potential in agriculture, logistics, mining and tourism yet most of the technology needed to transform these sectors is still developed elsewhere and imported as a finished product. At Lumor Technologies, I have been working through what that actually looks like in practice. Recently, I put together a proposal for agricultural drone services — pesticide application, crop monitoring, precision mapping for a government agency here in Tanzania. What struck me wasn't the technology itself. It was everything underneath it: training, maintenance, spare parts, local technical capacity. A drone delivered without that infrastructure is just an imported product with extra steps. That's the bigger opportunity I keep coming back to. Not distribution partnerships, but ones built around technology transfer, local assembly, technical training and eventually manufacturing. What technologies can we bring to Tanzania, localize, and build long-term businesses around? I'm increasingly interested in connecting with entrepreneurs, manufacturers and investors who see Africa's opportunity the same way not just as a market for technology, but as a future owner of it. #Africa #Agritech #DroneTechnology #Tanzania
