Sharjah, UAE | Tathmeer AgriTech Center has officially launched at Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park (SPARK), marking what is being described as the MENA region's first Integrated Agri-Tech Innovation Centre a milestone in the UAE's push to strengthen food security through technology and innovation. Built on a dedicated plot within SPARK, the center will serve as a real-world testing and demonstration environment for agricultural technologies before commercial deployment, bringing together controlled-environment agriculture, hydroponics, vertical farming, automation, IoT systems, and AI-powered monitoring, alongside Tathmeer's FarmBridge digital platform. "At a time when global supply chains are facing increasing disruption, strengthening food security and building resilient agricultural systems has never been more important," organizers said at the launch. "The UAE continues to take a forward-looking approach investing in technology, innovation and strategic partnerships to strengthen local production and long-term food security." Beyond technology demonstration, the center is designed to support applied R&D, farmer training, technology selection, startup development, and connections between producers, technology providers, investors, and markets positioning it as a launchpad for scalable agricultural solutions from Sharjah to the wider region. Hussain Al Mahmoudi, CEO of SPARK, said the partnership reflects the type of investment the park aims to attract: companies combining technology, applied R&D, physical infrastructure, and market access to address strategic priorities including food security, sustainability, and economic diversification. SPARK will provide land, infrastructure, and ecosystem facilitation, while Tathmeer develops the center's operating model. Tathmeer Agri Tech the UAE's first SCA-approved, Sharia-compliant AgriTech crowdfunding platform has also partnered with Elevate Farms, a vertical farming technology company operating across Canada, the US, and Switzerland, to strengthen the center's access to advanced vertical farming capability. The center is expected to participate in the Agriculture Innovation Zone at Sharjah Next–Sustainability, with technology demonstrations and workshops planned as part of the wider program.
