Excited to share that my team Revathi Miriyam , Lakshmi Sowjanya Somula , radhika thiriveedhi , Gowri Mahanthi , Neelima Bongu were shortlisted in our college’s internal round of Smart India Hackathon 2025! Problem Statement: We picked the software-category challenge from the Government of Jharkhand: “AI-Based Crop Recommendation for Farmers” (PS ID SIH25030)”. Our Solution: We built an offline-capable mobile app, Agri AI, designed to serve small & marginal farmers in areas with limited internet connectivity. The app allows for: lightweight, local crop-recommendation engine (based on soil, weather & local crop history) Intuitive mobile UI for farmers offline mode to ensure usability in connectivity-challenged regions What we gained: Collaborated across disciplines (frontend, backend, ML/AI, UX) Honed our skills in designing for real-world constraints (offline availability, mobile UX, local-context adaptation) While we didn’t advance beyond the college internal round this time, being shortlisted gave us tremendous momentum but we’re more motivated than ever to iterate, improve and take this further in future hackathons.
