

Thrilled to share that I recently participated in the Internal Smart India Hackathon 2025, held at Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology, Bengaluru, organized by the Institution Innovation Council (IIC) and AICTE IDEA Lab.
Our team worked on an impactful problem statement focused on AI-powered monitoring of crop health, soil condition, and pest risks using multispectral/hyperspectral imaging and sensor data — a solution aimed at empowering farmers with accurate, real-time insights to improve crop productivity and reduce resource wastage. This challenge opened up a deeper understanding of how technology, data fusion, and machine learning can address critical agricultural problems.
Throughout this experience, I learned and explored:
â—ŹIntegrating IoT soil sensors and drone-based imaging for agricultural data collection
â—ŹAI/ML techniques for crop health prediction, fertilizer optimization, and early warning systems
â—ŹReal-world constraints in agricultural technology deployment
â—ŹImportance of user-centric design for farmers with varying literacy levels
â—ŹCollaborative teamwork, time-bound innovation, and presenting technical ideas effectively
The hackathon strengthened my problem-solving abilities, technical exposure, and motivation to build solutions that create real social impact — especially in the domain of agri-tech and sustainable development.
