đ Shortlisted for Smart India Hackathon 2026!
Thrilled to share that our team Elevate X has been shortlisted in the internal hackathon round at G Madegowda Institute of Technology, Bharathinagara for Smart India Hackathon 2026
Our Project: Smart Solar-Powered Coffee Bean Dryer âđ
The Problem:
70% of Indiaâs smallholder coffee farmers still rely on open sun drying â losing 15â20% of their harvest every year to rain, pests, and uneven drying. Thatâs âč1,500â2,500 crore in national losses, and real income lost for over 3.66 lakh farming families.
Our Solution:
A fully solar-powered, zero-electricity-bill drying system â no batteries, no fuel, no recurring cost. Just sunlight, smart automation, and engineering built to survive real farm conditions, not lab conditions.
We didnât just design this on paper â every number behind it (heat energy, current, resistance, drying time) was calculated and validated from first-principles physics, then priced against real vendor quotes. What you see is a working prototype, not just a pitch.
Team Elevate X:
Nithin Kumar M â Team Lead ,Hardware Integration ,Solar Tracking & Automation
Syeda Rafiya Kousar-â Research & Documentation
Harsha Vardhan R â Mechanical Design & Prototyping
Hamsashree Kâ Research & Documentation
Mahesh Kumar R â Mechanical Design & Prototyping
Sudarshan DT â Testing & Validation
Grateful to our institution for the opportunity, and excited for the next round! đ
