Une discussion passionnante pour repenser nos modèles économiques, agricoles et sociétaux à la lumière du vivant. 🌿 Nous vivons une crise culturelle marquée par le culte de la performance — atteindre un objectif avec le moins de moyens possible. Dans le secteur agroalimentaire, cette logique d’efficacité absolue a conduit à des systèmes suroptimisés, dépendants des ressources fossiles et vulnérables face aux chocs écologiques. Olivier Hamant nous a brillamment rappelé que le progrès du XXIᵉ siècle ne se mesurera plus en gains de performance, mais en incréments de robustesse. La robustesse, inspirée du vivant, valorise la lenteur, la diversité, la coopération et parfois même certaines contre-performances – redondance, incohérence, hétérogénéité – qui rendent nos systèmes capables d’absorber l’incertitude. Pour les futurs ingénieur·es et acteurs de la transition, cela signifie apprendre à concevoir des modèles stables, autonomes et vivants. Favoriser la techno-diversité, l’autonomie technique et la coopération plutôt que la recherche d’une performance immédiate. In this just published paper, we explore two of the trifecta wins of climate-smart agriculture (CSA). We show that CSA practices increase land productivity and mitigate climate-induced crop yield losses, but significant heterogeneity remains. Importantly, we show that bundling these CSA practices offer the biggest productivity and resilience wins....a lot more interesting insights in the paper. I'm excited to share the first look at Sabzzy—a high-fidelity, interactive prototype for a platform I believe will redefine India's $140B+ fresh food supply chain. I have been working on it along with Nikhil Agarwal and @srishtichauhan. The Problem: Today, when we order groceries, we're not buying "fresh." We're buying produce from a cold-storage-based quick-commerce model. This system is broken. Consumers get overpriced, days-old produce with zero transparency. Local Vendors & Farmers are squeezed by middlemen, losing 30-40% of their margins. The Environment suffers from 40% of produce being wasted in this inefficient chain (FAO data). Our Vision: Sabzzy Sabzzy is a tech-first ecosystem that cuts out the middlemen, connecting consumers directly with the source: local mandis, farmers, and vendors. This isn't just another grocery app. It's a high-trust, transparent platform built on four pillars: 💡 1. True Freshness: No dark stores. Orders are fulfilled directly from the vendor's same-day inventory. 💡 2. Groundbreaking Tech: We're the first to simulate an AI-powered freshness scanner, Hinglish voice ordering, and AI-driven produce care advice for vendors. 💡 3.
