đż My First Research Presentation Experience! đż
đ€ AI-Driven Precision Agriculture: Transforming the Future of Food
Feeling incredibly proud and grateful to have presented my very first research paper â âAI-Driven Precision Agriculture: Integrating Zinc Oxide Nano fertilizers with Smart Farming Systemsâ â at the International Conference on Sustainable Development Goals and Environmental Sustainability (ICSDES-2025), held at St. Joseph's College Of Engineering. Josephâs College of Engineering, Chennai, in collaboration with AKSHAYA BEENA K S. đ
This wasnât just a presentation â it was a mission to reimagine how technology can make agriculture smarter, cleaner, and more sustainable. Our research focused on tackling micronutrient deficiency and fertilizer waste, two persistent global challenges.
> We canât manage what we donât measure â and thatâs where AI steps in.
đĄ Our Approach
By integrating IoT sensors, AI analytics, and Zinc Oxide Nanofertilizers, our model introduced a data-driven, efficient, and eco-friendly farming method:
đ± IoT Sensors: Real-time soil monitoring (pH, moisture, nutrient data).
đ§ AI Algorithms: Predict deficiencies before symptoms appear.
đŹ Nano-ZnO: 200â300% higher nutrient uptake efficiency.
đ Precision Application: GPS-based fertilizer deployment, only where needed.
đŻ Results That Matter
âŹïž 45% increase in yield
âŹïž 68% reduction in fertilizer usage
đ° $350 net savings per hectare
đ 35% reduction in carbon emissions
These results go beyond numbers â they represent healthier soil, cleaner water, and a meaningful step toward sustainable global food security.
đŹ Challenges & Future Scope
We also acknowledged key hurdles â from high initial costs and sensor integration to the development of biodegradable nano-carriers â because true innovation requires honesty and persistence.
âš What I Learned
This first experience taught me that technology doesnât replace human knowledge â it enhances it. Turning an idea into something that can truly make an environmental and economic impact was surreal and motivating.
Iâm deeply thankful to St. Josephâs College of Engineering for the opportunity, to our mentors for their constant support, and to my teammate for the amazing collaboration. Hereâs to many more innovations ahead đŸđ
