Proud to share our work for Smart India Hackathon 2025 as Team CodeCatalyst, where we are building an innovation-driven solution titled “Smart Crop Advisory System for Small and Marginal Farmers.” 🌱💡🇮🇳 Our goal is to empower farmers with intelligent, data-backed decisions that help improve crop selection, reduce losses, and increase profitability. Small and marginal farmers often struggle with limited information, unpredictable weather, and fluctuating market prices. Our system aims to bridge this gap using technology, automation, and AI. 🌾 What Our Project Does Our Smart Crop Advisory System collects and analyzes: Soil data Weather patterns Market trends Satellite-based vegetation indices (NDVI) Historical yield data Using these inputs, our system provides: 🔹 Best crop recommendations 🔹 Fertilizer and irrigation advisory 🔹 Weather and pest alerts 🔹 Market-driven crop price predictions 🔹 Automated delivery via app, SMS, IVR for accessibility The entire advisory is generated using ML models and LLM-based reasoning, ensuring that every farmer receives personalized, easy-to-understand, actionable insights. 🛠 Technologies & Tools Used To build this end-to-end intelligent advisory system, we used: Backend: Python (Flask) Machine Learning: Scikit-learn Database: PostgreSQL Mobile Frontend: Android (Kotlin) Web Frontend: HTML + CSS APIs & Integrations: Weather API Google Earth Engine (NDVI) Push Notifications AI Models: LightGBM for crop price prediction Temporal Fusion Transformer (TFT) for forecasting LLMs for generating advisory text Cloud Infrastructure: AWS for scalability & deployment Our system follows a complete pipeline—from farmer registration and data collection to ML-based prediction, LLM-driven advisory generation, and automated delivery through app/SMS/IVR.
