Growing up, I saw farming as âthe poor manâs jobâ, unattractive, exhausting, and meant only for the uneducated. Many of us carried this mindset, and honestly, it made sense at the time. Farming relied heavily on human effort, with little exposure to tools like tractors, planters, harvesters, irrigation systems, or greenhouses.
No modern farms. No modern narratives.
But today, the story has changed.
Agriculture has become green gold.
Technology, innovation, and young minds are redefining what it means to farm, thatâs from precision agriculture to automated systems and climate-smart practices.
This Farmersâ Day, Iâm reminded that not everyone will become a farmer, but everyone can contribute by investing, advocating, collaborating, or supporting efforts that make farming sustainable and profitable.
To all farmers we honour you.
