✨Smart Sensor System for Sustainable Farming 👨‍🌾🌱 ⭐The Challenge: Agriculture in India and globally faces two critical issues: inconsistent irrigation and delayed pest control. Manual monitoring is often time-consuming, leading to late intervention that significantly affects crop health and yield. Specifically, crops like cucumber, capsicum, and flowers are highly sensitive to soil moisture and pests like Thrips, Mites, and White flies. 💫Our Solution: Smart Sensor System with LED Alerts We developed an integrated smart system to tackle these challenges by optimizing water usage and enabling timely pest control. Soil Moisture Monitoring: Real-time monitoring of soil moisture to optimize irrigation. ✨Pest Control: Sensor-based monitoring to enable early pest control and minimize pesticide use. Real-time Alerts: Integrated LED indicators provide real-time visual alerts to guide farmers, helping them make quick and informed decisions. Key Outcomes & Impact: This system directly addresses inefficient irrigation and the absence of an integrated, sensor-based alert system. Resource Efficiency: Saves water by preventing over-irrigation and improves crop productivity. ⭐Reduced Manual Effort: Minimizes the need for farmers' manual efforts in monitoring and irrigation. ⚡Proof of Concept: Our prototype successfully demonstrates automatic irrigation control based on real-time soil condition. Project Snapshot: Control Unit: Esp 32 , Soil Moisture Sensor, DHT11 Temp/Humidity Sensor, Relay, and Water Pump. Test Result (Serial Monitor): Pump OFF (Soil is wet) with 43% soil moisture, and a 'Pest Alert: High Temperature & Humidity Detected!' was successfully triggered at 34.10° C and 93.% humidity.
