Fodder shortage is the quiet bottleneck behind low dairy productivity in India. At Shunya, we have spent the last 2 years solving it sustainably. Fodder-as-a-Service with hydroponic fodder delivered fresh daily to dairy farmers through Growth & Logistics Centres. And now we are expanding through a network of local Production Partners. As part of the cohort, Shunya will get access to sandbox facilities with an ability to do field validation with a network of 200+ FPOs and 2,00,000+ farmers. The enrichment of biogas manures with beneficial microbial inoculants — free-living nitrogen fixers, phosphate solubilizers — improves not only the nutritive value but also results in higher growth and yield of crops. In a directly relevant study, Azotobacter, Azospirillum, and Phosphate-Solubilizing Bacteria (Pseudomonas) were added to biogas manure samples collected from digesters running on six different substrates including cow dung. The beneficial microorganisms remained viable in all biogas manure samples for at least 3–4 weeks, and population was observed to increase across all substrate types — confirming that biogas manure supports and sustains these organisms as a growth medium. This is the single most directly relevant study for Fabino Bio Fertilizer Capsules use case, and it answers the core question definitively: biogas slurry from Gobar Gas plants is a viable medium that supports population growth of Azotobacter, Azospirillum, and PSB after inoculation.
